Reissued compilation with the original cover artwork (!), classic black vinyl with DLC! In 1982, the TVP's split up after five years as D.I.Y. pioneers (although the reunion was announced just three months later). The split was accompanied by the release of the mysterious album "They Could Have Been Bigger Than The Beatles". The collection of unreleased outtakes and alternative versions of songs from the first two albums was originally released with hand-painted covers (without information). Also on board are the classic and live favorite "Three Wishes", a heavily altered, fast, superior version of "David Hockney's Diaries", the freakbeat anthem "The Boy In The Paisley Shirt", the rare debut single "14th Floor" and "Games For Boys", a funny stroke of genius that expresses the childlike nature of the TVP's both lyrically and musically. Plus own versions of The Creation's "Painter man" and "Making Time" "Their quality and stature remains undiminished even after all these years. Indispensable". -NME
