The self-titled album by singer-songwriter and master guitarist Ted Lucas has attained an almost mystical reputation among enthusiasts and collectors. *Ted Lucas* is a seamless blend of atmospheric odes and raga-style instrumental pieces—regarded by many simply as the finest privately pressed folk/psych album ever made. Lucas was a fixture in the Detroit rock scene of the 1960s and 70s. The album originated in 1972 as a demo for Warner Brothers; released in 1975 under the title *Ted Lucas*, it was informally known among friends and family as "The OM Album"—named after Lucas's own label. The record was released featuring artwork by the legendary Stanley Mouse, which he had originally designed for Jimi Hendrix.
