Following her career highlight "Long Gradus" in 2023, which was born out of the rare opportunity to work with a string quartet for months, Sarah Davachi brings her electroacoustic studio and live chamber practices together in a stunning marriage on her tenth Late Music LP: "The Head As Form’d In The Crier’s Choir" is based on two works from the ancient Greek Orpheus myth - Rilke's poetry collection "Sonnets To Orpheus" (1922) and Monteverdi's early baroque opera "l'Orfeo" (1607), forming a 'loose trilogy' with its predecessors "Two Sisters" (2022) and "Antiphonals" (2021) and representing Davachi's most holistic approach to composition and performance to date. With a rich texture that undulates, permeates and reaches emotional climaxes in each piece, Sarah Davachi presents on "The Head As Form’d In The Crier’s Choir" are some of their most delicate and expressive works to date.
