Early in 2024, whilst working on the CD3 album with the fantastic Cooper Bowman, I channelled this song, THE PERILS. I say "channelled" because it basically wrote itself, with nods to that band Germans can't pronounce and to www.discogs.com/artist/5047-Hood.
I always wanted to make a 7" but never had the right song for it, one that's not an album or a compilation song but wants to stand by itself. Here it was...well, almost.
Some 2 years of steady tweaking later, and thanks to the help of the fantastic Jude Hagan (vocals) and the fantastic Roxane Métayer (strings), it eventually became what it wanted to be.
Once the THE PERILS was done, the two sibling songs materialised swiftly, but not without their own challenges. They are comfortable in stretching the Nein Rodere parameters, as B-Sides should.
