Next up are the Ipecac ISIS reissues: “In The Absence Of Truth” is the band's 2006 album, remastered by James Plotkin.
The 2LP 140g vinyl comes in a tip-on gatefold sleeve in two versions: standard black vinyl and an indie exclusive edition in eco-mix red.
The album builds on the band's previous album, “Panopticon,” and continues to explore the clear vocals of lead singer Aaron Turner (although his earlier techniques, which relied more on screaming and growling, are still present). Musically, the album is dynamic, ranging from expansive ambient sounds to almost tribalistic drum rhythms. Isis have retained their long songs; “In the Absence of Truth” is Isis' longest album at almost 65 minutes. Although the band has not existed for over a decade, their influence on metal is still felt, and sales figures continue to make it one of Ipecac's top albums.
