To mark the 50th anniversary (or 51st, to be precise) of Haruomi Hosono's solo debut, released in 1973 - the cult album 'Hosono House' - a variety of artists have come together on this compilation to pay tribute with their own new interpretations to a work whose impact and influence extends far beyond Japan and is still felt today. Harry Styles, among others, cited it as one of the main sources of inspiration for his Grammy-winning album 'Harry's House'.
Haruomi Hosono also rose to fame with the electropop trio Yellow Magic Orchestra, which also included Yukihiro Takahashi and Ryuichi Sakamoto.
The compilation was mastered by Josh Bonati, and the vinyl was cut at 45rpm for a better listening experience.
The artwork was also inspired by the original by Tomoo Gokita.
