Frowein Pedersen are a German/Danish duo from Zurich. On their debut album "Neighbors" they combine a jazzy sound with elements of hip hop, world music and 90s trip hop. By combining loops, samples and scratches with a wide range of traditional and quirky instruments, they have created an extremely eclectic sound. The 17-track debut is reminiscent of the early days of sampling and the joy of playing a newly founded fusion jazz band. The sparse arrangements give the music enough space to breathe and the rushing loops develop a feverish pull in their raw nature.
