Since their formation in 1999, their music has revolved around wanderlust and escaping an unbearable everyday life. Emo. Melancholic, driving, and angry. German punk, punk rock with German lyrics. Despite their lack of ubiquity, DUESENJAEGER are often mentioned in the same breath as MUFFPOTTER or TURBOSTAAT to describe this style of music. Many mail-order companies use DUESENJAEGER as a reference to define emo punk. The band's musical foundation is audibly genre-spanning, rooted in the guitar-driven underground of the 80s.
