anthéne returns with descendre, a hushed and heartfelt set of ambient meditations released via German label oscarson. Known for his prolific output and deeply atmospheric sound, the Canadian artist (real name Brad Deschamps) conjures a series of slow, shimmering pieces that stretch out like early morning mist. Gentle textures, warm tape hiss and distant melodic fragments combine into a delicate balance of fragility and calm. Subtle shifts in tone suggest both memory and movement, but this is music content to drift, to dwell, to quietly dissolve.
Fans of Chihei Hatakeyama, Celer, or Taylor Deupree will find much to cherish.
