A band from Austin, Texas, they've long been considered one of the hottest US metal bands. If Fu Manchu played Black Sabbath twice as fast and twice as loud, you'd end up with The Sword. Saint Vitus also resonates, 80s doom metal, and the old harsh rock sound of the late 70s, but mostly at a faster tempo. On their debut, they massage the ear with a massive wall of sound, almost impenetrable, yet very melodic and full of monstrous, gigantic riffs and tunes.
