Bone White & Orange Splatter Vinyl. John Carpenter's soundtracks for the recent Halloween trilogy, which he composed alongside longtime collaborators Cody Carpenter and Daniel Davies, marked the legendary director and composer's return to film scoring after a hiatus of nearly two decades. Halloween (2018), Halloween Kills (2021), and Halloween Ends (2022) were all directed by David Gordon Green, who brought Carpenter in early on in pre-production and eventually hired him as executive producer and soundtrack composer for the trilogy. Halloween Expanded, originally released in 2019, now arrives in brand-new packaging, providing a new highlight for fans to add to their collection. 2018's Halloween was a success that exceeded everyone's wildest dreams, opening with the highest box office results in Blumhouse history and the highest in the history of the Halloween franchise. It was inevitable that two sequels, Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends, would soon be greenlit. Green signed on to direct both films but didn't want to assume that John, Cody, and Daniel would return to score them. "I don't take anything for granted," he says. "So you hope they had a good experience. I know we had fun on the project, but you never know what people's time and financial interests are, and all those things. The realities of the business, of making movies, don't always go so smoothly. But there were no problems. We looked at each other and said, 'How can we make this work? Let's try it again.' Twice." The expanded version of Halloween includes more than 28 minutes of additional music from the film, providing an even more complete, immersive listening experience. The expanded edition's additional material includes a total of 24 new tracks, spread across two additional sides of the deluxe double LP. This new expanded edition features brand-new artwork by Chris Bilheimer and an exclusive 24x36-inch poster designed by Creepy Duck. Expanded versions of the soundtracks to "Halloween Kills" and "Halloween Ends," as well as a box set containing all three expanded editions, will also be available from Sacred Bones on the same release day.
