Between a Benjamins rehearsal weekend, a Die Nerven tour and the first Beatsteaks demos, Julian and Thomas added another day, wrote and recorded two songs. Two bass riffs and 10 minute jams each became two songs: “Event” and “Is it easier”. Lyrically it is short, ambivalent and comes from the heart. The instruments are correspondingly sparse: bass, drums, guitar and the synthesizer. For the dreamed-of maxi single at 45 revolutions per minute, only two dub versions of the songs for the B side were missing. Schleifi and Braui aka DJ Schleifstein and Jan Brauer (Brandt Brauer Frick) as well as Andi Thoma (Mouse on Mars) gave us the missing dubs. The Simply Bauen dub by Andi Thoma contains two Palais Schaumburg samples
