Laibach & A/POLITICAL present 'Alamut,' a stunning album of original symphonic works based on the 1938 novel of the same name by Vladimir Bartol, which explores the mechanisms of propaganda at a time when the Slovenian author witnessed the rise of fascism in Trieste, Italy.
Laibach set the novel's moving stories to music with a group of outstanding musicians who performed 'Alamut' in 2022 in a former Crusader castle in Ljubljana. These musicians include the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra, the vocal group Human-Voice Ensemble from Tehran, the Gallina Women's Choir, and AccordiOna, a women's accordion orchestra supported by additional accordionists and led by Iranian conductor Navid Goharib.
