Dizziness – a term that hardly fits a time better than today. "Death to the Dictator" is the fiery second album by the Berlin trio, emerging from the ashes of the punk band Grow Grow. Its explosive blend of anti-corporate punk, dystopian indie, (post-)hardcore, and post-punk is completely convincing. The three protagonists create a sound that unleashes a hurricane of emotionally charged outrage from its well-considered words and finely observed circumstances. Screamed rage, fueled by the desire for systematic change, underpinned by gruff, noisy passages that gain colossal relevance through the melodic and thoughtful songwriting. All of this is reminiscent, not least, of bands like Turbostaat, Oma Hans, Hot Snakes, Meat Wave, and Pissed Jeans, but is so much more! Minor chords that exert an enormous pull, incredibly dynamic drumming, pounding bass hooks, and wonderfully staged vocal attacks that repeatedly push us brutally against the wall with fantastic lyrics – the powerful way they alternate between melody and aggression. "Death to the Dictator" – a wrecking ball of an album! *
