Black Country, New Road release their new studio album, "Forever Howlong," on Ninja Tune! The album is their first studio release since their 2022 album, "Ants From Up There," alongside their Mercury Prize-nominated debut, "For The First Time," and follows 2023's "Live At Bush Hall." Now, on their third studio album, the band starts from scratch again, undergoing another miraculous musical transformation.
Produced by James Ford (of Simian Mobile Disco, who has previously worked with Arctic Monkeys, Depeche Mode, and Blur, among others), the long-awaited new album finds Black Country, New Road in a new form, with vocal duties—and the majority of songwriting—shared between Tyler Hyde, Georgia Ellery, and May Kershaw. "Forever Howlong" is an ambitious, meticulously crafted album that encompasses everything from folk to prog and baroque pop to a touch of alt-rock—with nods to Joanna Newsom, Randy Newman, Fiona Apple, and Janis Ian—while maintaining that distinctive, unique sound that only this combination of musicians can produce. While the album is diverse and expansive, it also feels cohesive and focused, taking three distinct voices and styles and seamlessly blending them into a new collective sound.
