BLÜMCHEN BLAU - Das waren keine Hits 2x7“ (Austrian new wave-punk band, existed from 1981 to 1983. The first demo recordings of the Austrian new wave kings, who brought us „Flieger". One 7" in light blue, one in black. Numbered edition of 100.) 21.00

SIEGE - Lost Session '91 7“ (Rescued from obscurity, Patac Records is proud to present the missing final chapter in the Siege legacy. Grind/hardcore pioneers Siege made a huge impact in their brief existence. The 1984 Drop Dead cassette was widely circulated by tape traders and created the blueprint for nearly every grind/fastcore/powerviolence band that followed. In 1991, the Boston, MA, hardcore outfit reformed with Anal Cunt vocalist Seth Putnam and recorded one EP that remained unreleased until now.) 9.00

ALEXIS MARSHALL - House of Lull House of When LP (sergeant house - "Daughters vocalist Alexis Marshall releases his debut solo album House of Lull . House of When on Sargent House. House has a similarly gothy vibe to Daughters' great 2018 comeback album You Won't Get What You Want, but Alexis takes things in a few different directions too. To get a feel for the vibe Alexis was going for on this album, we asked him about the music that inspired it, and he made us a list of 10 songs, from Nick Cave to Scott Walker to Nico to Swans to Suicide and more.“) 28.00

AQUARIAN BLOOD – Bending The Golden Hour LP (goner - With Bending the Golden Hour, the third album from Memphis, Tennessee’s Aquarian Blood, husband and wife team J.B. Horrell (Ex-Cult) and Laurel Horrell (formerly of the Nots) continue the gorgeously stripped-down and atmospheric direction set on their critically acclaimed previous effort A Love That Leads to War. While Aquarian Blood has roots as a chaotic punk rock six-piece, the band shifted gears after two raucous cassette-only releases on ZAP Cassettes, a pair of seven-inches, and 2017’s Last Nite in Paradise, released on Goner Records. After drummer Bill Curry broke his arm, the Horrells redefined) 23.00

ARCHIE SHEPP - Live in Paris (1974) LP (transversales - Transversales Disques proudly presents Archie Shepp – Live In Paris (1974), a never released before ORTF recording performed live at Studio 104, Maison de la Radio (Paris), remastered from the original tapes. The musicians at the recording session were Archie Shepp (Saxophone), Noël McGhie (drums), Bob Reid (Double Bass), Pablo Kino (Percussion) ans Siegfried Kessler (Piano). These exclusive recordings will be available as Deluxe Gatefold Tip-On Vinyl LP.) 29.00

CATHERINE CHRISTER HENNIX - Blues Alif Lam Mim DLP (blank forms - Having already unearthed three collections of archival '70s recordings by Catherine Christer Hennix, Blank Forms continues our annual illumination of the visionary Swedish composer’s music by turning to more recent work with this first-time vinyl edition of Hennix’s “Blues Alif Lam Mim in the Mode of Rag Infinity/Rag Cosmosis,” a 2014 piece first released as a CD in 2016. The double album captures the April 22, 2014 premiere of Hennix's composition by the Chora(s)san Time-Court Mirage, her expanded just intonation ensemble, featuring a brass section of Amir ElSaffar, Paul Schwingenschlögl, Hilary Jeffery, Elena Kakaliagou, and Robin Hayward; live electronics by Stefan Tiedje and Marcus Pal; and voice by Amirtha Kidambi, Imam Ahmet Muhsin Tüzer, and Hennix herself. Intended to reveal the blues’ origins in the eastern musical traditions of raga and makam, “Blues Alif Lam Mim in the Mode of Rag Infinity/Rag Cosmosis” has its roots in Hennix’s 2013 realization of an “Illuminatory Sound Environment,” a concept developed in 1978 by anti-artist Henry Flynt on the basis of Hennix’s own “The Electric Harpsichord.” ) 49.00

CHARLIE MEGIRA - Tomorrow's Gone DLP  (numero - Even in this age of near-total Internet accessibility, Charlie Megira is a modern mystery. A casual search turns up little aside from a few cryptic articles. His brief career unfolded during a changing of the guard in the music industry, opening on the death of the compact disc and ending just prior to Spotify’s IPO. For an artist like Megira, living far away from a major music outpost, there was more chaos than structure for his recordings to exist and find an audience. This collection is the first attempt at putting the pieces together, compiling a life’s work of an artist whose spark almost shined unto the world. His was a music both familiar and entirely alien at once. It touches on corners of darkness, an isolation both lonely and sweet, all wrapped in a cold glow that draws the listener into each note, each melancholy melody triggering unrecorded experiences. His various projects put out music which began as a junction point between Link Wray’s surf guitar and the theatrical psychobilly of The Cramps, took a turn towards goth-inflected post-punk, and towards the end of his career would sojourn back into his earlier musical fascination with late 1950s and early 1960s rock ‘n’ roll. ) 33.00

CRASS - Christ Alive! - The Rehearsal LP (Originally recorded in 1982 in Crass’ rehearsal studio at Dial House, Christ Alive documents the ofttimes gruelling process behind the making of a song. Given the exacting nature of Crass’ finished works, it’s illuminating to hear them battling out results that eventually gave them the structure to Christ the Album. After many hours spent in the studio, it was decided that Beethoven would be expertly weaved into the recordings. Call it Crasshoven if you like. This black vinyl pressing, limited to 1000 units, will also see all profits donated to the Refuge, a UK charity working against domestic violence.) 21.00

DARKTHRONE - Eternal Hails .... LP (peaceville -With the highly revered Norwegians remaining ever-dedicated to the art of the riff after 35 years of existence, Darkthrone return for album number nineteen and a new dose of metallic godliness. On the back of 2019’s triumphant ‘Old Star’ opus, the duo of Nocturno Culto & Fenriz present a 41 minute maelstrom of Epic Black Heavy Metal across five sprawling compositions. Organic and dynamic, the album is an exploration of the very finest vintage metal and the best of doom, all delivered in the unmistakable Darkthrone style, whilst also incorporating instruments such as the Moog to further expand upon these soundscapes. ) 23.00

DAS DAS - s/t LP (detriti - The true spirit of 80s Berlin post-punk is still alive! Awesome contemporary band. It comes with a download code in the packaging.) 20.00

FATIMA AL QADIRI - Medieval Femme LP (hyper dub - Fatima Al Qadiri returns to Hyperdub, with a suite inspired by the classical poems of Arab women. Medieval Femme invokes a simulated daydream through the metaphor of an Islamic garden, at the border between depression and desire, where the present temporarily dissolves, leaving only past and future. Since Shaneera, her last release for Hyperdub – a homage to hometown friends and a celebration of regional queer influences –Fatima recorded the soundtrack for French Senegalese director Mati Diop’s Cannes 2019 Grand Prix winning feature Atlantics. The restrained soundtrack to Diop's supernatural storytelling, sympathetically mixes neon drones and the faint outlines of Arabesque melody, intensifying Diop’s journey between worlds, rendering the complex emotions of the film. Medieval Femme expands on ideas instilled from Atlantics to capture a fully realised, dreamlike setting, shaded with colour and subtle friction. The theme of the album is the state of melancholic longing exemplified in the poetry of Arab women from the medieval period. Fatima seeks to transport the listener to a place of reverie and desolation, to question the line between two seemingly opposite states and rejoice in celestial sorrow.) 24.00

DIE FISCHE - Eine Nacht In Cairo LP (bureau b - Die Fische from Ratingen pressed their 1986 album "Eine Nacht in Cairo" in a small private edition. Long considered a forgotten treasure of the German post-punk underground, it has more recently been discovered all over again by new listeners as one or two cuts, such as Fire Of Love and Conversation Of Everyday-Lovers, have broken through the topsoil into the vast reaches of the internet. Nowadays, collectors over the world search for precious copies of the "Eine Nacht in Cairo" LP. This is a reissue of this wonderfully rapturous album, somewhere between leftfield synth-pop and post-punk.) 23.00

GEOFFREY LOLLI - Il reste la douleur LP (specific - ** Edition of 300 ** Geoffrey Lolli is the epitome of the underground French library music scene. From his early days in the hardcore scene to his most celebrated Italian trilogy, his tapes full of Eno-esque experiments and his addiction to reggae, the musician never stopped exploring new grounds and mythologies with talent and discretion. Having lived with the infamous Gregory case from the very beginning, his new record is not looking for answers but dares to put raw emotions into music, with a particular attention focused on details and titles. You don’t have to know everything about the case to dive into the music, you just let yourself go with the flow of groovy melancholy and electronic ideas. Graced with a very emotional cover, Il Reste la Douleur can be considered a modern library masterpiece.) 17.00

GIOVANNI DI DOMENICO - Decay Music n. 4: Downtown Ethnic Music LP (die Schachtel - Edition of 250 copies, 180g marble vinyl, silk-screen PVC sleeve - Binding a deep social and political conscious with rigorous musical experimentation, the Brussels based, Italian pianist, performer, composer, Giovanni Di Domenico, delivers Downtown Ethnic Music, the 4th instalment of Die Schachtel’s Decay Music series, focused on inspired contemporary experimental efforts in the ambient, ethereal, and emotively abstract music. Over the last decade or so, Giovanni Di Domenico has carved a deep path through a diverse number of discrete fields within experimental music, working in various ensembles - Abschattungen, AufHeben, Bonjintan, Cement Shoes, Delivery Health, Going, etc. - as well as producing a discography of critically heralded solo efforts, and intimate collaborations with Jim O'Rourke, Tatsuhisa Yamamoto, Akira Sakata, Arve Henriksen, Tatsuhisa Yamamoto, Alexandra Grimal, Nate Wooley, Chris Corsano, and others.) 27.00

GRAHAM LAMBKIN - Solos 4LP BOX-SET (blank forms. -The years between Graham Lambkin’s tenure with the legendary Shadow Ring and his more recent improvisational duos mark a distinct period of creative production within the artist’s insular career. Living with his family in Poughkeepsie, NY, from 2001 through 2011 Lambkin recorded and self-released four solo albums that valorized mundane domestic situations while reveling in the liminal spaces between the acts of listening, recording, and producing. Created through an ingenious economy of means, these solo records are as beguilingly seductive as they are uncanny. Perpetually laughing in his own duplicitous face, Lambkin breathed new life into musique concrète and sound poetry, giving outmoded forms a contemporary consciousness while setting the gold standard for a continuously unfolding canon of 21st century tape music. ) 98.00

HYSTERESE - s/t (2021) LP (tcm. -Three years have passed since the last Hysterese record, and these last years brought change to the band. All grew older, some got babies and some went their different paths. So 2021 is a bit of a new era for Hysterese, personally and music-wise - with a new bass player, a new method of songwriting and more diverse influences which are reflected in slightly new song vibes. The last self-titled album already showed a glimpse of what might possibly happen while composing new material. Moritz and Helen split the composing and added a more morbid style - it got darker, and shows a bit more of a mature or adult approach to write intelligent, powerful songs. Hysterese’s trademark, the twin lead vocals of Helen and Moritz loses its weight as Helen takes more and more the role of the lead singer. They have less stakkato riffing and more open, atmospheric guitar work filled with superb guitar-melodies. Kai’s precise, machine-like drumming, and Jana’s flawless basswork do the final tricks - one can explore more than a „one, two, three, four" - punk rock album. ) 15.00

KARL KAVE & DURIAN - Untergang und Finsternis LP (Detriti - Great collaboration between our fave Swiss New Wave heroes. Dreamy synths, dreamy lyrics, dreamy people. It comes with a download code in the packaging.) 20.00

LABORATORIO DELLA QUERCIA - s/t DLP (alternative fox - In the summer of 1978, an ambitious twelve-day experimental jazz project was undertaken at the ancient amphitheatre, Tasso della Quercia, on the slopes of Rome’s Gianicolo hill. The idea was to assemble the leading players from Italy’s avante-garde jazz scene, revolving around members of Grande Elenco Musicisti (or GEM), such as saxophonists Tommaso Vittorini, Eugenio Colombo and Maurizio Giammarco, trumpeter Alberto Corvini and trombonist/composer Danilo Terenzi, together with visiting American players such as saxophonists Steve Lacy, Steve Potts and Evan Parker, trombonist Roswell Rudd, pianist Frederick Rzewski and drummer Noel McGhee, among others. Different group configurations were enacted each day and the final gala concert formed the basis of this super rare and highly playful double album, which captures the delightfully messy proceedings. In keeping with the openness of the Roman jazz scene of the day, the project sought to push the boundaries, aiming to break big-band traditions whilst still emphasizing the collective nature of the experience. Enrico Rava’s opening “Tromblues” emphasizes the disparate approaches of these trans-Atlantic teams and Terenzi’s “Dialogando” uses dual trombones to heighten musical discord; in mutated big-band mode, Giammarco’s thrillingly complex “Vortex Waltz” and Vittorini’s “La Legge E Uguale Per Tutti” both speak to the limitless potential that the project was aiming for.) 25.00

MALADIA - sacred fires LP (LVEUM - MALADIA “Sacred Fires” 12”EP stands on an abyss made of the hiss and fog of a thousand generated cassette demos and the murky despair of damaged electronics and overloaded amplifiers. Equal doses of raw punk from the Southern Hemisphere and 80s European hc punk influences mingle with harrowing and desperate vocal cries, echoing RUDIMENTARY PENI and NERORGASMO as if both bands were hanging out in the back seat of a tour van listening to ANTISECT on a boombox. Recorded in a pre-fire Fuzzbrain studios in oppressive mid summer heat, this will tear your turntable up! (Jonah Falco)) 18.ßß

MATIAJKA - Desolated Statues In Feumia LP (detriti - Awesome debut album from this mysterious synthwave project from Kuwait 🇰🇼It comes with a download code in the packaging.) 20.00

MARTA FORSBERG - tkac LP (LED AND LOVE SOUNDS (2015) is Forsberg’s first sound-and-light piece. The piece is made of frozen and processed violin sounds. The drones are slowly changing, providing minimal repetitions that never stay the same.  ”A slow transition from playing on my instrument, to play only my electronics. Letting the violin hang there with me on stage, listening to itself. Following how the drones slowly change, minimal repetitions that never stay the same.  And you can hear the gallery clearly, it moves sometimes in the background. Noises of moving bodies. The sound of listening bodies, trying to be still, maybe falling asleep shortly in the middle, and you hear how they drop something on the floor. How nice it is to hear the audience.” ) 24.00

MIND MAINTENANCE - Mind Maintenance LP (drag city - Mind Maintenance is the new duo consisting of Joshua Abrams (Natural Information Society) and Chad Taylor (Chicago Underground Duo, Chad Taylor Trio). This is where the music begins, but Mind Maintenance can't be described simply as a summation of its parts and players. When you put on the sound, you'll know what we're saying - you'll notice how immediate and meditative it is; how simple, how "in the room," and how the natural buzz of each instrument sits remarkably well against the other. The percussive qualities of the guimbri and the mbira, so raw and unadorned individually, form with their shared resonance a soothing, sonorous whole. It's not about world music, it's not about jazz. It's about mind maintenance. The songs of Mind Maintenance exist in a zone somewhere between composition and improv. Based in melodies that unspool over time, they benefit from Chad and Joshua's intimately enmeshed sensibility and the intensity with which they listen to each other. Chad and Joshua have been playing together forever - or, if you need to think of it more tangibly, since around 1994. Based on our research, the pairing of guimbri and mbira is more than unusual - it appears to be without precedent! This is incredible if it's true, but more important to the music of Mind Maintenance is the shared ground of inspiration that both instruments occupy. Mind Maintenance pursue their inspirations on these instruments down similarly transformative paths. If some part of the 21st century isn't focused on destruction, but instead, locating a place where our traditions can work together in new ways to entertain and even ensure well-being, then that's just one more incentive for all of us to consider Mind Maintenance.) 35.00

MOLLY BURCH - Romantic Images LP (captured tracks - Indeed, Romantic Images marks a distinct evolution for Burch, both emotionally and sonically. Recorded in Denver with Tennis’ Alaina Moore and Pat Riley producing, the collection celebrates the timeless delights of a well-crafted pop song, flirting with Blondie, Madonna, and even Mariah Carey as it forges a joyful soundtrack to liberation and self-discovery. Burch deliberately worked with more women collaborators than ever before on the album, and the results are transcendent, reveling in the passion and the power of the divine feminine. Written with the live show in mind, the collection prioritizes ecstasy and escape, and it’s easy to hear Burch’s commitment to collective catharsis in her lifted, airy delivery, which manages to exude both thoughtful introspection and carefree abandon all at once. The shadow still lurks on the album, to be sure, but the light ultimately wins, as it always does when we’re brave enough let it in, and the result is an intoxicating collection all about coming into our truest selves, an honest, uplifting testament to the comfort and strength that comes with learning to look in the mirror and love the face staring back. ) 25.00

THE NECKS - Mindset LP re issue (Long awaited re-issue of The Necks 2011 masterpiece. Always different, here the Necks resolutely layer polyrhythmic material to form seething blocks of sound - in two long pieces, one more stripped back to the live trio, the other featuring multiple strata of swirling Hammonds, noise-guitar and electronics. Their 16th release still resonates on its own.) 20.00

THE PARTISANS - Anarchy In Alkatraz / No Future Demos 1980 - 1982 LP (sealed - 19 track round up of demos from The Partisans who formed in Bridgend, South Wales in 1978 and ended up being one of the cream of the UK82 punk movement. The first side of the LP has 10 tracks recorded in April 1980 in one day and like bands in their early years - it features mainly covers. It includes songs from the Sex Pistols, Stiff Little Fingers, UK Subs, Buzzcocks, UK Subs, Cockney Rejects and yes even more UK Subs. It also has primitive and raw versions of future Partisans classics No Time and I Don’t Give a Fuck. This demo has never been heard or released in any form. Less than a year later, February 1981 with Savage leaving and Louise joining on bass, the band have their most well know line up and are in full flow with a 6 track demo that was sent to No Future Records. It’s not surprising the label snapped them up straight away as the recordings are high energy and full of anthemic gems. The label released Police Story and Killing Machine as the debut 7” direct from these recordings. The other four tracks from this demo have never been released on vinyl. The last three tracks on the LP are the demos from 1982 recorded for No Future for the 17 Years of Hell Single. Rawer and more punk than the actual well know versions. All members of the bands helped in this release and shared original masters from which everything was remastered plus archive from their own personal collections including photos galore, handouts, ticket stubs, interviews etc which are included in the 28 Page Booklet. ) 20.00

PHILIPPE SARDE - César et Rosalie OST LP (transversales - After « Les choses de la vie », Transversales proudly presents the first ever LP reissue of this classic Philippe Sarde soundtrack. As it happens, Philippe is less interested in his natural function which is to write music sheets... than in the film itself. And I, somehow, am as much, and perhaps more interested in the music than in the film itself. There lies the deep reason for our paradoxical relationship.” These are the words French film director Claude Sautet used to define his collaboration with the French prodigious composer.  The « Cesar et Rosalie » score is like a magical bridge linking baroque and electronic music, mixing Moog synthesizer sequences with acoustic instruments.  Compared to the original CAM LP, this reissue contains 6 unreleased tracks that were removed from the original tracklisting. Among them a Mariage 72 in Bacharach style and a beautiful piano version of the theme performed by Philippe Sarde himself. It obviously contains Romy Schneider’s famous voice-over in the unforgettable track La lettre de Rosalie.) 27.00

POVENIR OSCURO - Asquerosa Humanidad LP (LVEUM - NYC’s PORVENIR OSCURO are back with their first full length after a very distant demo and 7”. Made up of 13 tracks “Asquerosa Humanidad” doesn't let the foot off the gas for a second. It is relentless pogo inducing attack that falls somewhere between FERTIL MISERIA, RIP and early CHAOS UK. With tunes full of aggression, melody and fuzz in equal measure, laying the foundation for vocalist Sara to spit her vile. Lyrically the album deals with modern day frustration, showing little faith in humankind and a massive dis-respect towards authority like any self respecting person should. While stand firmly in the punk terrain PORVENIR OSCURO borrows from the rich worldwide sounds of the underground delivering a fully formed sound and aesthetic which is their own. “Asquerosa Humanidad” sleeve, labels and double sided A2 poster were designed by Guitarrist Gage Allison and was recorded, mixed and mastered by Sasha Stroud at Artifact Audio.) 18.00

RUSSELL POTTER - A Stone's Throw LP (Tompkins square - A then obsessed teenaged devotee of John Fahey, Robbie Basho, and Leo Kottke at a time when Punk and New Wave were ascendant, Potter harnessed a similar DIY ethos to his own ends by starting his own label & self-publishing his first record, 'A Stone’s Throw’, while a freshman enrolled at Goddard College in Vermont in 1979. Assembled at the legendary Boddie Records in Potter’s hometown of Cleveland, Ohio, and sprinkled liberally with references to his heroes, from the initial record label name of Fonytone (which more than a little recalls Fahey’s earliest record label, Fonotone), to the arcane song titles and references to obscure rags. ) 27.00

RYUICHI SAKAMOTO & DAVID TOOP - Garden of Shadows and Light LP (Sakamoto & Toop are captured in precisely unpredictable, improvised form in their remarkable first collaboration, recorded at St John at Hackney Church, London, 2018. ‘Garden of Shadows and Light’ bears witness to the entirety of the duo’s debut concert, where the pair pay tribute to the aesthetics of Japanese gardening (hence the title), cultivating and exploring a spectra of carefully pruned small sounds for the first half, before blossoming into a lusher, pricklier sort of night garden described with animalistic electric guitar and guttural inside piano sound. It’s a meeting of two weighty musical minds, pitting a rarely paralleled breadth of knowledge and skills spanning decades (upon decades) of work between the fields of film music, pop session work, sound installation and live performance at the service of a deeply immersive, world building style.) 32.00

SANDRO MUSSIDA – Decay Music n. 3: Rueben LP (die Schachtel - Riding the razor’s edge between rigorous experimentation, innovation, and tradition, London based, Italian composer, cellist, and electronic performer, Sandro Mussida, joins the Die Schachtel family with Rueben, his 3rd solo LP. Active since the early 2000s, Sandro Mussida worked extensively with Mark Fell, Curl Collective, Lorenzo Senni, Oren Ambarchi, and Alessandra Novaga, among others, as well as a founding member of the interdisciplinary artists' group TQS Collective, before releasing his solo debut, Ventuno Costellazioni Invisibili, on Metrica in 2017, followed by Eeeooosss, released by Soave in 2019. Rueben, like its predecessor, deploys a microtonal vocabulary within a three-instrument sound palette and builds upon Mussida’s long-standing investigations of active listening, augmented by a developing practice that challenges aural perceptions of historical, non-equal-tempered tuning systems. The 3rd instalment of Die Schachtel’s Decay Music series - launched to highlight inspired contemporary experimental efforts in the ambient, ethereal, and emotively abstract music - Rueben was recorded during 2018 in the church of St.Giusto in Volterra, Italy. Deeply inspired by Italian Renaissance paintings encountered by Mussida during the work’s composition, and conceived at the intersection of acoustic and electronic aural fields, in careful response to the space itself, the sounds of electric guitar, bass clarinet and cello - treated as minuscule sound atoms, rapidly projected to form structures of evolving densities - harmoniously enter into dialogue, forming a multi-layered, contemplative sonic landscape, within the interwoven complexity of their own reflections.) 27.00

THE SAME - sync or swim LP (rvng intl./ freedom to spend - Before there was Rimarimba, Suffolk-born, Felixstowe-based musician and home recording enthusiast Robert Cox assembled a cast of friends, some musicians and some not so much, for an experiment in group exploration and ecstatic expression under the name The Same. Sonically and gravitationally defined by Cox's collaboration with guitarist Andy Thomas (a partnership which formed in 1976 to record as General Motors), Sync or Swim, The Same's one and only album, also featured keyboards by Florence Atkinson and Paul Ridout, and vocals by Robert's sister Rebecca. Originally released in small cassette and vinyl quantities on Unlikely Records, Cox's imprint and a meeting point for many other musicians found at the fringe, the back cover of the original album jacket is as much a map of the personnel, place, and process fundamental to Sync or Swim as it is a table of contents for DIY music-making at the beginning of the 80s: "Recorded in peaceful Wiltshire between September 18th and October 6th 1981 (using a miscellany of home made devices) onto a Teac A-3300SX via a Teac A-3440. No noise reduction systems were used." Cox's own definition of British psychedelia is "folk music meeting technology and going bonkers." It's by this definition that Sync or Swim takes unexpected forms, from tape-speed tomfoolery, concrète sound collage and analog delayed marimbas, to the colorful spectrum of interwoven guitar play between Cox and Thomas reminiscent of Ghanaian Highlife but more accurately indebted to Jerry Garcia. On the album's culminating final track, "E Scapes," all of these elements are brought together in twenty-minute journey through layers of chiming guitar loops and spritely solos, keyed percussion, and tape experiments, all played as though the sun were rising over the standing stones of Salisbury Plain. Cox would later go to similarly greath lengths with certain solo sound endeavors, but the confluence of musicians on "E Scapes" pushes the piece to exceptional, unforgettable heights. Transferred and remastered from the original tapes, The Same's Sync or Swim arrives on LP July 16th, 2021 on Freedom To Spend, just in time for the album's 40th anniversary.) 25.00

STEVE REID ENSEMBLE - Spirit Walk DLP (soul jazz - Out of print for nearly 15 years, this album was recorded at the start of the long-relationship between Kieran Hebden and drummer extraordinaire Steve Reid. Soul Jazz Records had begun to release Reid’s music in 2000, reissuing much of his early catalogue of radical, deep and spiritual jazz music from the 1970s when an encounter between electronic music pioneer Kieran Hebden and Steve Reid effectively launched a new career for jazz drummer Reid – a man steeped in history having played with John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Fela Kuti, Motown and much more. Kieran Hebden and Steve Reid released a set of ground-breaking albums together in London, New York and Africa (including four on Domino Records) and continued to work together up until Steve Reid died in 2010. This album launched the start of this new connection between the two very different and yet connected artists – a mixture of electronic and jazz sensibilities like no other. The album ‘Spirit Walk' contains an updated version of Reid’s seminal ‘Lions of Judah’ (originally released on Reid’s classic ’Nova in 1976), ‘For Coltrane’, and the stunning and epic 15-min ‘Drum Song’. The album comes with complete original artwork, including innersleeves (featuring an interview with Steve Reid by Gilles Peterson).) 37.00

SUSPECTRE  - s/t LP (sabotage - Suspectre is a new post-punk band of three friends based in Frankfurt, Germany. After having spent the last years in several DIY contexts and music projects they finally started this new band in 2018. They played a few concerts in 2019, but were rather quickly stopped again by the pandemic. Nevertheless they recorded a 12 inch record as their debut release in 2020. It contains 8 songs, that are a diffusely influenced blend of various punk-related genres held together by its basic 3 instrument arrangement. Combining the rhythm-driven verve of garage punk with a warm and melodic pop appeal, they create their very own sound in the vast post-punk landscape.) 15.00

TOXIC WASTE - Belfast LP (Lveum - TOXIC WASTE represent the hardest end of the CRASS milieu. While most anarcho-punk bands of the time sang about a war they’d only seen on TV TOXIC WASTE were being politically active in Belfast during the troubles. They played militant punk with melody and aggression. Borderline hardcore at times with a clear peace-punk message. Angry, intense and in your face. They were involved in the Warzone Collective and shared stages, experiences and activism with bands such as STALAG 17, CONFLICT , ASYLUM and ANTISECT.

ULNA - OEA LP (born yesterday - Ulna’s OEA is a “bar-rock getting sober record.“ The first full length solo record of Ulna, aka Adam Schubert of Cafe Racer, OEA is an ode to reinvention. Along with the release comes a rebranding--formerly Ruins, Schubert’s new pseudonym ULNA is a reference to a pivotal moment in his childhood. At the age of 14, Schubert shattered the bone on the inside of his forearm in a skating accident, and took up the guitar. “That’s what made me serious about playing music,” says Schubert. This name change also accompanied Schubert’s shift towards sobriety--OEA was created right as Schubert reconfigured his life without drugs or alcohol. With the exception of the final track, “Dead Friends,” the whole album was written while in a recovery program. “You have to reinvent your whole personality, you have to be a different person,” says Schubert.”Who am I if I’m not the crazy drunk dude who’s doing drugs in the bathroom?” OEA is an intensely personal record, in subject matter but also quite literally--Schubert plays every instrument, though the record feels far from a home-demo, recorded and mastered by Robby Hanes at Strange Magic Recording in Chicago’s Logan Square. Schubert’s songs are ambling and full of picked guitar and retro harmonies, a stylistic sensibility he attributes to a love for the Beatles and “acoustic rock with a weird punk edge,” a-la Big Thief and Kurt Vile. Though instrumentally sunny, his vocals hint at something else - there’s an underlying ache. OEA is an easy listen, but with a depth of emotion that demands listeners’ attention.) 25.00
