LP

Ø & Mika Vainio - Metri DLP (sahko - 1st time ever on vinyl, this minimal masterpiece from finlands masterminds - 2025 Re-issue Mika Vainios first album that many regard as one of the most essential foundations of electronic music.... 10 track album from 1993 by the late Mika Vaino (1963-2017) is now available again. All live recordings, played with analog equipment to DAT Tape. Essential.) 33.00

ABHORRENCY - Climax of Disgusting Impurities LP (sentiment ruin - Bestial, pulverizing, black/death metal barbarity from the outermost realms of insanity. Sacramento, California-based desecrators Abhorrency bring us their humanity-ending debut full-length abomination, "Climax of Disgusting Impurities", thirty two minutes of complete savagery and bestial sonic abandon worshipping the deranged cult of bands like Death Worship, Conqueror, Bestial Warlust and Proclamation. Unrelenting and antihuman in every aspect imaginable, the nine-song audial weapon of mass extermination establishes a perpetual state of torment and terror within the listener through an unyielding death-bearing black, death, and grind-infused onslaught designed to demolish every human presence by any means necessary. A new cult of total death has risen, and Abhorrency are its new chaos-wielding prophets and emissaries!) 28.00

ANENON - Moons Melt Milk Light LP (tonal union - LP - 2025 Limited Repress in Original Art and Specifications: Transparent Clear vinyl, etc as below. Anenon's tenor saxophone breathes an emotive contemplation on loss, meshed with sustained piano and field recordings. 'Moons Melt Milk Light' is a hyper-personal statement contained in a visceral beauty. LA native Anenon returns with a highly anticipated new album 'Moons Melt Milk Light' on Tonal Union, bearing his most personal, expressive, and arresting works to date. Anenon is the ongoing solo studio and live project of Brian Allen Simon, whom since 2010 has released multiple albums and EPs to critical acclaim, including the highly revered 'Tongue' (2018) and 'Petrol' (2016). 'Moons Melt Milk Light' is direct, efficient, and unwavering in its immediacy. Anenon departs from the electronics of previous works, and embarks on a reductive, almost entirely acoustic approach consisting of piano, tenor saxophone, bass clarinet, and field recordings. All of the music was improvised with everything recorded as either a first or second take with no edits. Any layering happened fast and in the moment, and yet the sonic architecture of the whole feels both planned and refined. ) 28.00

AARON LANDSMAN / NORMAN WESTBERG - Night Keeper LP (hallow ground - »Night Keeper« is a collaborative album by New York City-based artist Aaron Landsman and former Swans guitarist Norman Westberg that is based on the former's eponymous play. Westberg recorded it together with performer Jehan O. Young for the Swiss Hallow Ground label, with Landsman serving as the record’s producer. The original piece was first performed in the Spring of 2023 at The Chocolate Factory Theater in Queens and filled the stark industrial space with spoken text, choreography, projections, and music in dim light and, occasionally, complete darkness. Westberg and Young afterwards brought it to the studio to record it as a two-part album in whose course his textural sounds, based on loops and samples, set the stage for her soothing, sonorous vocal performance. »Night Keeper« is a performance inspired by sleeplessness and the wanderings of the human mind at night—about time and memory. Westberg and Young elegantly capture its essence in these roughly 44 minutes with a somnambulic album, letting sound and meaning flow into each other.) 27.00

ASH RA TEMPEL - Starring Rosi LP (MG Art - We are thrilled to announce the highly anticipated re-issue of Ash Ra Tempel's legendary 5th Studio Album "Starring Rosi" in our "50th Anniversary Edition". Originally released in 1973, this seminal work remains a cornerstone of the Krautrock and "Kosmische" movement, blending psychedelic rock, ambient soundscapes, and early electronics into a transcendent auditory experience. The Album has been recorded by Manuel Göttsching in it´s entity, with additional help to come from Producer Dieter Diercks playing bass, percussion, Drummer Harald Grosskopf and of course Rosemarie "Rosi" Müller. "vin" is an essential piece of their continuation of blending cosmic psychedelia, ambient textures, and avant-garde electronic experimentation. Originally released in 1973, this album marked a significant departure for the band, featuring Rosi Müller, who added a lyrical and vocal dimension to the band's typically instrumental soundscapes & Manuel Göttsching background singing. To many technically Ash Ra Tempel last, yet most accessible, release, although there was the soundtrack to Philippe Garrel´s movie "Le Berceau de Cristal" and there might be some further previously unreleased, music to come out later.) 28.00

BLEACHED CROSS & TRUE FAITH - Columns of Impenetrable Light LP (a la carte. "Columns of Impenetrable Light" is the cold new split between oppressive post-punk/darkwave outfit Bleached Cross (Protagonist Music) and post-punk stalwarts The True Faith (A La Carte Records). After working together on the co-release of the Bleached Cross B-Side and demo compilation "Exhumed," which featured a remix by The True Faith, both bands and labels have converged to deliver a sonic exploration of two sides of the same coin- ruminations on life and death, hope and despair, presented across 8 new propulsive and brooding tracks featuring two unique vinyl colorways on reverse stock jackets adorned with foil stamped lettering. The record also features art design by Coward's Way for a complete audio and visual experience. This is music for contemplating the void between the earthly realm and the infinite blackness that awaits us after our last breath. This is Columns of Impenetrable Light: step inside and see what lies beyond.) 28.00

THE CAMERA OBSCURA - To Change the Shape of an Envelope LP (solid brass - Limited Edition 25th Anniversary Reissue! Originally released in 2000 on Troubleman Unlimited Records, 'To Change the Shape of an Envelope' was the only full length record from San Diego synth-fueled post-hardcore band, Camera Obscura. Solid Brass worked with the band, along with Pete Lyman at Infrasonic Mastering and the band's longtime friend/designer/musician Sonny Kay, on this Limited Edition 25th Anniversary Reissue.) 30.00

DISAPPEARANCES - Harrowgate LP (council - 15-songs of raging Hardcore with a scream metal edge - sometimes reminds us on Ritual Mass - LP available on coke bottle vinyl. Limited to 300 copies) 26.00

DOCILE BODIES - Light Will Come Our Way LP (a la carte - Further honing their craft, Docile Bodies builds upon the aural foundation constructed by post-punk powerhouses The Cure and The Chameleons. Since the group’s inception, they have drawn comparisons to contemporary acts Iceage, Protomartyr, and Eagulls while simultaneously carving their own niche of sonic landscapes and post-modernist prose. Light Will Come Our Way is a collection of meditations on art, nature and family. In their previous works, such as their debut single Only This (2020) and their first EP Arc (2022), the (botanic) landscape mainly served as a metaphor for hopelessness and desolation. On this new album a shift occurs and moves towards a more confident notion of nature, although it does not entirely embrace it.The album is also about ancestry and descendants. About restored bonds, future offsprings and deaths in the family.) 28.00

DOLLY MIXTURE - BBC Radio Sessions LP (sealed - Rejoice Indie poppers, punks and pop kids - Sealed Records in conjunction with the band and BBC release all 14 tracks Dolly Mixture recorded for the BBC. You no longer have to listen to bad YouTube uploads… Here are all the tracks remastered from original sources, and as an added treat featuring John Peel introducing them and three jingles the band recorded for Kid Jensen. The first session was recorded for John Peel in August 1979 and features the unreleased 'Dolly Mixture Theme Song’ which the band used to start gigs with and a super strong cover of Goffin and King’s ‘The Locomotion’. Four already Dolly Mixture classics from the time were also recorded including 'Dream Come True’, 'He’s So Frisky’, 'New Look Baby’ and 'Ernie Ball’. You can hear the excitement and joy and the sounds are so well recorded at Maida Vale Studios with top notch studio equipment and production. The next session from September 82 was recorded for Kid Jensen and shows a slightly more mature band, but the tracks are just as instant and lovable. These tracks have a more 60’s girl group sound but with more energy. Most people will know the tracks from the Demonstration Tapes album but these versions are better recorded and show the band moving forward. The last session from October 1983 was for Kid Jensen and again shows a band evolving but still with tunes that over forty years later are still loved and adored. All in all 14 perfectly rounded pop nuggets wrapped in a beautifully designed sleeve and poster by Paul Kelly. ) 30.00

DON'T GET LEMON - Have Some Shame LP (a la carte - Say Something New For Once is an ironic commentary on the process of songwriting. Most bands have the opportunity to say something unique about their lives but instead get lost in trivial cliché. Does this song say anything new to you? Is it supposed to? Don’t Get Lemon is the collaborative artistic work of longtime friends Austin Curtis, Nicholas Ross, and Bryan Walters. After touring the west coast off of their debut album, “Hyper Hollow Heaven”, DGL returned with new singles Autocratic Gore and Blow-Up, including a remix by De Lux. With DGL’s triumphant second album, “Have Some Shame” the art-pop trio have expanded their sound to glittering new heights as they dance between shimmering synth-pop and stomping glam rock. The 9 song 37 minute album, out on à La Carte Records (Soft Kill, Madeline Goldstein, Lesser Care, The True Faith) and Summer Darling Tapes, recorded in rural Texas by Dan Duszynski (Loma / Sub Pop) and mastered by Paul Gold (LCD Soundsystem, Animal Collective) revolts against the bored distant gaze of cliché coldwave, and instead retaliates with the warm fiery embrace of what the band dubs “Heatwave.” This heartfelt sound forms an idiosyncratic identity that also wouldn’t be out of place in a classic John Hughes 80s film soundtrack. Singer Austin Curtis’ looks and stage performance sits comfortably between the sensual sway of Elvis Presley and the chameleon fluidity of David Bowie.) 28.00

DRNTTCKS - Die Republik von Eso LP (das andere internet - For 14 years, DRNTTCKS [droʊn əˈtæks] have been improvising their way through the German experimental underground between Hamburg and Munich, paying little attention to conventions and releasing numerous albums on labels such as the British Industrial Coast, Beach Buddies from Romania, or the in-house Otomatik Muziek (RIP). Now their first LP is being released: „Die Republik von Eso“. DRNTTCKS see themselves as part of a network of experimental German music projects that also includes bands such as ZEMENT, DATASHOCK, BALDRUIN and BRANNTEN SCHNÜRE. Like the other bands from this non-scene, DRNTTCKS weave complex themes into a hybrid aesthetic that is as disturbing as it is beguiling. „Die Republik von Eso“ explores themes of crisis, political alienation, the influence of New Age mindsets and the connection between neoliberal self-optimization ideologies and fascism.) 25.00

EDGAR - Places We Live, Places We Die LP (council - Long Island Hardcore veterans EDGAR deliver 10 crushing new tracks on this incredible LP, their first vinyl offering in over 2 decades and well worth the wait. Limited to 300 copies on snow white vinyl, and comes withal a digital download and stickers. Co-released with Council Records and Small Hand Factory Records.

) 26.00

GASTR DEL SOL - Camoufleur LP (drag city - 2024"s retrospective box We Have Dozens of Titles brought the revelatory 1993-"98 output of Gastr del Sol back into the world of physical objects, following a decade in which most of their music was mostly available online. The ruckus that the box generated in the so-called real world was intense enough to warrant some more fun excursions; thus, we begin our vinyl reissue series of the Gastrlog at the end of the line, with their "art-pop masterpiece" somebody"s words, not ours - but we"ll take "em): Camoufleur. Gastr del Sol released Camoufleur in February of 1998. It was a ringing down of the curtain on an extraordinary five years of music making (and unmaking) with one of the best albums of that era - or any other. Once out in the world, Camoufleur went over like gangbusters. Listening in today, it still does - time has only burnished its unique superpowers. Upon release, of course, and with the same sense of enigma in which they"d issued their music, Gastr del Sol abruptly vanished, leaving all that stuff to time. And by golly, in time we"ve found it again, and huzzah almighty, have recommitted it to ol" reliable, the singular magic of the vinyl platter, for the enjoyment and edification of a new nation.)34.00

GREGORY UHLMANN /JOSH JOHNSON /SAM WILKES - s/t LP (international anthem . Uhlmann Johnson Wilkes is the debut album from Gregory Uhlmann (SML, Anna Butterss, Duffy x Uhlmann, Perfume Genius), Josh Johnson (SML, Jeff Parker ETA IVtet & New Breed, Meshell Ndegeocello, Anna Butterss, Leon Bridges), and Sam Wilkes (Sam Gendel, Louis Cole, Chaka Khan). The three improviser/arranger/producers" impressive individual credits encompass such a wide stylistic pendulum swing that a collection of group music from the trio could mine any number of musical territories with masterful results. In these 11 instrumental songs, the trio explores a spacious lyrical curiosity that could be described as a jazz-informed take on progressive electro-acoustic chamber music.) 27.00

GÜNTER SCHICKERT - Samtvogel LP (wah wah - ’Samtvogel’ has been out of stock for a while but it is still one of more requested releases, so here is an updated pressing with availability in ultra limited 100 only runs of 3 different colored vinyl options. And because we do love old black vinyl, also a limited run in black. Chose your colour or collect the whole set! ;-) By far one of the most important Krautrock experimental albums made during the ’70s. There are records that come from the soul. No matter how primitive may be the recording techniques the musician has access to, the soul gets its way to the heart and mind of the listener. “Samtvogel” is one of those records. Günter Schickert recorded that amazing piece of human greatness in 1974, using the media he had at the time, putting his brain at work to find the best way of taping everything he had to say. “When I was recording “Samtvogel” in 1974 I had only 2 Taperecorders. I played one track and while listening I added the second one. And so on. Four times. When I mixed all together I borrowed a 3rd taperecorder. And still added the last track to the master. I had a small mixer with 2 stereo and 1 mono but it was possible to pan tracks. No equalization. It all came out of my still living G2000 Dynacord guitar amplifier, of course valve, with no master, even the voice recorded through it. If I made a mistake in 1 track I had to repeat it from the beginning. And if while mixing I was not fast enough in changing the tape I had to start again. So it took me more than 3 months to get ready.”) 32.00

GOLEM MECANIQUE - Siamo tutti in pericolo LP (ideologic organ - Siamo tutti in pericolo" is the third album by Golem Mecanique, the pseudonym of French multi-instrumentalist and composer Karen Jebane, released on Ideologic Organ. Jebane works on the fringes of contemporary folk (aka La Novea Community), microtonal sound, and early modernism, but also touches on the ash and fiber of back metal and the DNA of gothic music, literature, sorcery, and, most importantly, poetry. Jebane's work with the drone box (a mechanized hurdy-gurdy) and the zither as a smooth and undulating surface for her vocals is immediately apparent in an almost ceremonial way, inviting her into a space of clear, dark creativity and beauty. On "Siamo tutti in pericolo," Jebane works with her compositional forms in a new way, poetic and economical in the execution of her techniques, through her homage/hymns/meditations on the highly irregular circumstances and questions/mysteries of the passing of the soul of master artist Pier Paolo Pasolini. Perfectly paired with the cover image by collage artist Julien Langendorff, "Siamo tutti in pericolo" presents Jebane's "Golem Mecanique" in its purest form. -Stephen O'Malley, Brion, France, September 1, 2024) 28.00

HEIMAT - Iti Eta No LP (One, two, three, ... Iti Eta No. Here now, the upcoming and eagerly awaited new Heimat album! Wrapped in the astonishing and mesmerizing cover artwork by acclaimed illustrator Anouk Ricard, here are a handful of hard-to-classify deviant pop songs by Olivier Demeaux (Cheveu, Accident du Travail) and Armelle Oberlé (The Dreams, Badaboom). Sometimes very martial, like marching music, sometimes very lyrical and gentle, the sounds of Heimat delve deeper into these crazy landscapes, layering cinematic scores and samples over layers of urban cultures, thus opening the gates of dreamy glimpses and shadowy histories. Well-produced and legible, the surprising and explosive material is a true Art Brut manifesto of collaged music. Let's welcome this strange paradise.) 28.00

HUMAN - stopping power LP (deep six - Blazing hardcore thrash featuring members of EXTORTION, LACK OF INTEREST, & TO THE POINT, STOPPING POWER an old school sounding record that instigates and annihilates. 21 songs in as many minutes. The reassurance of Power Violence has brought these respective band members together to create a time portal of thrash induced hardcore that won't recreate the wheel, but instead, maintains the crushing velocity of what birthed the movement in the first place.) 28.00

JOHN McLAUGHLIN - Marbles (w/ Stefan Goldmann Version) 12“ (Macro - Marbles is the legendary 1970 proto punk / dance classic from John McLaughlin’s US debut album 'De?otion', recorded at the time in which he played on Miles Davis' Bitches Brew and taped the Record Plant session with Jimi Hendrix. Marbles didn't just deliver jazz rock's most danceable 4/4 beat, played by Band of Gypsies / Electric Flag drummer Buddy Miles. It is also centered with a once-in-ageneration bass line performed by Billy Rich. Larry Young's otherworldly Hammond textures predate a lot of what synthesizers were about to do much later, and the blowtorch energy emanating from John McLaughlin's cranked amp went beyond what most would had dared during the defining era of heavy rock guitar. An apex achievement at the intersection of jazz rock, guitar rock and dance music without parallel, before or since. Background: John McLaughlin arrived in New York in 1969 to join Tony Williams' new group Lifetime which also featured Larry Young and eventually Jack Bruce (of Cream). On the second day in town he found himself in the studio with Miles Davis, recording 'In a Silent Way.' His playing would also take center stage in Bitches Brew, Jack Johnson, On The Corner and several other Davis key works of his much beloved first electric era. In between a busy schedule with Lifetime and Davis, McLaughlin also recorded two solo albums in 1970, 'De?otion' with an all-electric group and ‚'My Goa|’s B?y?nd' as its acoustic counterpart. By the time he formed his group Mahavishnu Orchestra in 1972, John McLaughlin was firmly established as the most important practitioner of his instrument of his generation within and well beyond the emerging jazz rock / fusion genre, and he has continued to evolve and surprise until today. Here, a thorough remaster is supplemented by a new and throbbing techno version by Stefan Goldmann.) 13.00

JORGE LOPEZ RUIZ - B.A. Jazz LP (Jorge López Ruiz is one of most versatile of musical talents to emerge from Argentina. As a bass player, composer, performer and arranger he has worked across many genres including jazz, pop as well as stage productions and feature films. BA Jazz was originally released in 1961 on Vik Records as the debut album from Lopez Ruiz featuring a mix of covers and original material. Alongside Ruiz Lopez are Roberto Fernandez on trumpet, Ruben Lopez Furst on piano, Pichi Mazzei on drums and a young musician called Leandro Barbieri on tenor sax. Leandro became better known at Gato Barbieri, who went on to build an international reputation working with Charlie Hayden, Don Cherry, Dollar Brand and Carla Bley and recording for Impulse! Records, Flying Dutchman and A&M Records. The BA Jazz album has been a rarity for years and original pressings attract huge amounts from collectors. It's rarity is matched by the fantastic music contained with its grooves. It's a genuinely important record in the development of jazz in South America. (Tony Higgins)) 37.00

KHAN JAMAL - Give The Vibes Some LP (Palm - It's quite simple, if you have a good connection with music, to find things that should be reissued due to their exceptional quality, but, like a diviner, being able to unravel the problems related to the licensing of a record, well, that's much more difficult. Finding someone is Sherlock's job! After 4 years, Khan Jamal II (son of Khan Jamal) delighted us with a "Let's go my guy“. Khan Jamal doesn't need much introduction: Born Warren Robert Cheeseboro, he was a jazz vibraphone and marimba player from Philly. He founded the band Sounds of Liberation in 1970 with Byard Lancaster. In 1974, during one of his many trips to the old continent, he recorded this album in France at Jeff Gilson's Palm studio. It is a delicate game of lucid and intense contrasts between Christian Vander's drums provides a rock oriented touch, the marimba and the vibes with influences from the lands of the rising sun of Jamal and the composed trumpet of Clint Jackson III which anchor "Give the vibes Some" in a sort of Space Age Jazz era. In the end, you know what? This album is a transcendent journey into yourself, like an intense session of meditation...even if "35.007 Feet Up" could easily be played by Jeff MiIls in his DJ Set!) 45.00

KATELYN CLARK & MITCH RENAUD - Ouroboros LP (hallow ground - On Katelyn Clark and Mitch Renaud's »Ouroboros,« astronomical and astrological phenomena, concepts and symbols such as the Great Year or the Eternal Return serve as the starting points for sonic explorations and experimentations. Focusing on a uniquely tempered range of frequencies, from low-end drone rumbles to airy pipe swirls, the duo develops a minimalist and highly evocative sonic universe on their debut album for Hallow Ground. Working as composers, improvisers and curators in Canada's vibrant experimental and early music scenes, Clark and Renaud began developing »Ouroboros« through extensive improvisation with a reduced setup. Clark, who has worked extensively with historical keyboards since her studies in Amsterdam and Siena, played a small pipe organ modeled after a 14th-century instrument while Renaud brought a modular synthesizer and his interest in feedback systems to the collaboration. Later, the duo further refined their artistic dialog and the sonic interactions of the two instruments through the shared space of a two day recording session in Vancouver. Subtle crackling, acoustic beating and other (psycho-)acoustic effects in five pieces document this encounter, giving the music a profound physicality while hinting at the bodily presence of the two collaborators.) 27.00

LESSER CARE - Underneath, Beside Me LP (a la carte - “Underneath, Beside Me” is the 9 track debut, from El Paso based band Lesser Care. Written in the winter of 2020 & opening of 2021, the album’s notion is made entirely out of prospects dealing with grief, loss, love, and the aching acceptance of it all. As being the group’s first full length, consider these songs as personal introductions to new ends, and old beginnings. Entirely mixed & engineered by Chris Common (These Arms Are Snakes, Goatwhore, Chelsea Wolf) and mastered by Corey Coffman (Gleemer, Ridgeway, Modern Color) “Underneath, Beside Me” holds the subject of dreamy post punk, with an unrecognizable face.) 28.00

LLOYD MILLER - The Middle East LP (Comes with an insert with exclusive pictures and condensed interview about the serie with Lloyd Miller made in March 2022 printed on 300 gram Favini "Remake" paper, plus exclusive goodies! The Middle East front sleeve is handcrafted silk-screened with Beeswax and tip-on 700 gram cardboard as it used to be 500 years ago (I mean WHOWW) !!! Comes with an insert with exclusive pictures and extended interview about the serie with Lloyd Miller made in March 2022 printed on recycled coated paper 4 panels 30 x 30 cm with about the inspiration of this work plus a focus on the evolution of folk music during the revolutionary moments of the last century. Exclusive handcrafted silk-screened artwork of Dr. Miller on handcrafted 250 gram Shiro Eco paper, exclusive memorabilia and much much more. (Yes! much much more as usual...we love to surprise you !!!)) 36.00

LLOYD MILLER - Near And Far East LP (Made with the intention of exploring and experiencing the various musical and cultural perspectives of a territory as vast as that of Persia, "Near And Far East" is a significant historical document that transcends the restrictive concept of territory but rather inhabits a space of absolute time. The album's content is not just window into faraway places, but a leap into the times and cultures that have now been swallowed up by the incessant movement of globalization and capitalism. Listening to it is turning your ear into the true musical culture of countries whose rapid change has eliminated the cultural peculiarities at their roots. Inspired by his long journeys in Iran, Lloyd Miller takes us on a journey through the instruments and sounds of a time, giving us his interpretations of a musical world that was - and that now remains - an historical document for future explorers who are curious about the mysterious musical arts of the middle and far east. Certainly a holy grail for samplers and loopers who can find exotic panoramas here! ) 36.00

PORTRAITS OF PAST - 01010101 LP (ebullition - Originally released in 1996 this eight song LP was not an immediate success. When it first came out it was way ahead of its time and the band's popularity didn't really explode until long after the band had broken up. Portraits of Past started out as a 1990's straight edge hardcore band and their debut split 7" with Bleed captured that sound. But the LP was much more controlled and refined and layered.  It had a moody almost sad feel to it that was quite captivating.  At this point, that sound has become a classic and this LP remains as an important milestone of 1990's hardcore.  This new version of the 1996 LP was remastered by Will Killingsworth, and then mastered by Golden Mastering.  All of the original artwork was lost to the ravishes of time and a lot of effort went into recreating the original LP jacket by Jeff Capra and the printing engineers at Ross Ellis who had made the original jacket back in 1996.  Portraits of Past will be playing many shows in 2025 including the Rennaisance Festival in Los Angeles in May of 2025. ) 26.00

PUBLIC OPINION - Painted On Smile LP (convulse -  CONVR86 is Painted on Smile, the debut LP from Denver's Public Opinion. One part ultra-catchy punk, one part exorcism, it’s an album that reckons with self-loathing and self-doubt so thoroughly that by the end of it, maybe things don’t seem as cursed after all. Painted On Smile somehow draws together the melodicism of early aughts rock, the intensity of hardcore, and the spiky swagger of primordial punk into a surprisingly cohesive blend. Lyrically, the album hinges on Hart’s ability to capture existential frustration without stumbling into self-pity.) 27.00

PUNITIVE DAMAGE - Hate Training LP (convulse - CONVR89 is Punitive Damage's new 12" EP Hate Training. Picking up where 2022's LP This is The Blackout left off - Hate Training delivers enormous, direct hardcore across 6 tracks. Lyrically, Hate Training addresses historic cycles of oppression and their echoes today. Sonically it gives you everything you want from hardcore without any bloat or excess. Fast, aggressive, loud. We're thrilled to welcome Punitive Damage back to Convulse Records.) 27.00

SAHEB SARBIB - Evil Season LP (eating - The bass, that metronome that marks the time for musicians of every style, of every era, that secluded, silent, but essential character for a band. Without the bass, the music would be deflated, the heart notes would leave a wasteland of rowdy high frequencies without any rules. But bass players who have character can elevate those low frequencies and even make them loud at times. Who knows if free jazz, if we want to call it that, is exalted by the Arabic background, those semitones between the first and second degree that also make the bass sparkling? In his records, Saheb elevates the bass to a mother instrument, gives it life as vibrant as the spring that is coming. Solos are on par with that of the reeds and stand up to listening without waiting for another antagonist to return to take back the scene. This is one of the most playful and entertaining records we have reissued to date. Take a tour of the world of Saheb!) 37.00

SCRATCH ACID - Scratch Acid + Berserker LP (touch & Go - Born out of the early 1980's Austin noise punk scene, Scratch Acid deliberately eschewed the loud, fast rules of hardcore as everything they didn't want to be and embraced a weirder, artier sound. Prior to the release of their 1984 debut S/T EP, someone gave Touch and Go Records owner Corey Rusk a cassette of the recording, and he was instantly a huge fan. Rusk was immediately interested in releasing the EP and contacted the band to express his admiration. At the time, Scratch Acid had already committed to working with Rabid Cat Records. The group quickly developed a riveting performance aesthetic, and, as the debut S/T EP made its way around the country via fanzines, college radio, and word-of-mouth, the band mounted short tours to the Midwest and the East Coast. While he was not able to work with Scratch Acid directly through Touch and Go, Rusk had begun booking shows with Scratch Acid in Detroit, so he could see them live and meet them. A friendship formed, and Touch and Go Records would eventually release the band's second EP, Berserker, in 1987.) 33.00

SCRATCH ACID - Just Keep Eating LP (touch & go - White Vinyl - Born out of the early 1980's Austin noise punk scene, Scratch Acid deliberately eschewed the loud, fast rules of hardcore as everything they didn't want to be and embraced a weirder, artier sound. Prior to the release of their 1984 debut S/T EP, someone gave Touch and Go Records owner Corey Rusk a cassette of the recording, and he was instantly a huge fan. Rusk was immediately interested in releasing the EP and contacted the band to express his admiration. At the time, Scratch Acid had already committed to working with Rabid Cat Records, who released the band's debut release S/T EP (1984) and their only full-length album, Just Keep Eating (1986). The group quickly developed a riveting performance aesthetic, and, as the debut S/T EP made its way around the country via fanzines, college radio, and word-of-mouth, the band mounted short tours to the Midwest and the East Coast. After playing a total of 146 shows, Scratch Acid broke up after the long tour that followed the release of the Berserker EP (Touch and Go Records, 1987). Since that time, the band have had many imitators, and many alternative bands have cited Scratch Acid as one of their influences.) 33.00

SHELTER - Checkmates In Dub LP (emotional response - Emotional Response is proud to welcome renowned multi-instrumentalist Alan Briand aka Shelter, to the label with a striking new EP that delves deep into the realms of modern Digi-Dub. Over a myriad of releases Shelter’s dextrous ability to straddle genres, from ambient, Balearic, improvisation and most recently a series of acid ragas, releasing on an impressive roster of today’s electronic labels including Antinote, Growing Bin, International Feel, Séance Centre and his own Protopost imprint. After making waves on Emotional Response's All Trades compilations with his standout track "The Four Knights Dub," Briand returns to further explore his passion for digital dub and UK roots. Across four tracks, all recorded live, he merges sound design, found sounds, and world music with seismic basslines, creating a truly immersive sonic experience. The rise of Digital Dub is often traced to the groundbreaking "Under Me Sleng Teng" by Prince Jammy / Wayne Smith, but it was the UK's later reversioning – adding electronic drums to roots and steppers rhythms – that gave birth to the unique sound of Digi-Dub.) 25.00

SIMON FISHER TURNER - Under The Arches LP (a colorful storm - Where to begin with a figure like Simon Fisher Turner? From teenage stage and screen star to illustrious recording artist for Creation and Mute and score composer of Caravaggio, Blue and The Epic of Everest - via a stint with The The and collaborations with Derek Jarman, David Lynch and Tilda Swinton - Turner embodies a distinctly British sensibility and boundless curiosity for sound. For A Colourful Storm, discovering Deux Filles, his mysterious project with Colin Lloyd-Tucker that has since been reissued by Dark Entries, was a significant moment in shaping their identity. In August 2023, A Colourful Storm presented Simon Fisher Turner and Time is Away at Spanners, London. Performed at the tail end of Blue Now, a series of events celebrating Derek Jarman's last feature film, Blue, the recording reveals a lifetime of significant events and influences. Terre Thaemlitz's remix of Turner's Shishapangma (Comatonse Recordings, 2015) is reworked and appears on vinyl only, Jarman is privately recorded reading White Lies, Bertrand Russell is sampled, and Turner records his brother practising the Great Rissington organ for their father's funeral. "My wife and I lived in Brixton, near the venue, on Coldharbour Lane, 20 years ago. We were above a takeaway shop. The air extractor was a nightmare and the flat smelled of grease. The market was a great place to buy fish. We adopted a giant snail, who we called Ayrton. I used to take him all over town and he loved lettuce and tomatoes. There was a wonderful small pizza shop too, which was so delicious. But back to the music. Brixton is music and I'm a lucky man.“) 25.00

VELVET - Romance LP (a la carte - Brooklyn-based band Velvet has become well known in the NYC scene for their crushing live performances and distinctly heavy tones. With their debut LP, released in early 2024, the group has a sound that blends the ethereal textures of shoegaze with a raw alt-rock energy. With high demand from fans for a vinyl release, Velvet teamed up with á La Carte Records to make that wish come true.) 28.00

VISIONS - decay LP (ebullition - This is the second LP from Visions.  Ebulliton has historically always released new music from bands that were pushing hardcore punk in many different, new, and exciting directions while always being anchored to the hardcore punk scene.  In my opinion Visions are a perfect fit for Ebullition.  If they had existed in the '90s I would have eagerly done records with them.  Hailing from Portland, OR they offer up a very powerful and beautiful style of gothic-anarco inspired punk that often gets compared to Siouxsie and The Banshees or The Cameleons, the Mob, or Signal Lost… but delivered with high energy, vitality and simply amazing singing.  I am just totally captivated by Visions.  Awesome.  I saw them play in Portland recently and they were fantastic.  They will be doing a West Coast tour in March 2024.  Do yourself a favor and check them out!  500 made.  Includes a cover of the "Warriors" by the Blitz. ) 26.00

TAPE

CROM - The Cocaine Wars 1974 - 1989 TAPE (to live a lie - CROM is the ultimate amalgamation of mystery mixed with futility. They are one of the most frustratingly undefinable bands out there mixing general metal aesthetic into a stew of subgenres ranging from sludge and doom to perfectly cultivated thrash parts and plenty of punk, hardcore, and powerviolence influence spices to get a perfect boiling mixture that has been thought about and talked about since it came out originally in 2001. The original release came out on a band member's label alongside releases from DYSTOPIA, GRIEF, EYEHATEGOD, and 16 to name a few and CROM is fully deserving to stand next to those bands. In 2023 we have taken the original masters and given them the white glove treatment and enlisted Nick Townsend whose mastering and audio work includes such big releases from JIMI HENDRIX to PEARL JAM to DR DRE to NAILS to the DIY likes of REGIONAL JUSTICE CENTER and FIREBURN. Nick worked with Phil from the band to create a perfect representation of what this release needed to sound bigger and fuller in the over twenty-year time since it came out. This definitive edition is the best sounding time capsule of what the band really encompasses and deserves. Similar attention has been given to the artwork, with freshly scanned Carlos Vera artwork and the vinyl version has the cover art sized perfectly to fit its gatefold cover. The resulting release will have you smashing high gravity Steel Reserve along side the band. To quote the mostly unreleased unofficial CROM documentary trailer "How does the audience respond to CROM? By either leaving or losing their fucking mind". This record will make you do the latter.  A handful of years ago we did a cassette of this on silver tapes /200 copies. We are back again with big foldout full color cover, remastered audio, and now /200 orange shells in 2023 for a clean fresh re-release. Note this is the same as the LP/CD release we did earlier this year, but not the same as the original mix/original tape we did.) 12.00

NIRVANA - bleach TAPE (sub pop. -When it first appeared, Bleach seemed like a tuneful approximation of what grunge rock in the Northwest United States was supposed to sound like--gruff, enraged, sometimes tuneful, sometimes silly. Singer Kurt Cobain had the pipes to belt out such power trash as "Mr. Moustache" and the Shocking Blue's "Love Buzz," but considering the sheer volume of frustrated tuneage coming out of Seattle in 1989, it was easy to miss Bleach's subtler textures. In retrospect, "Negative Creep" and "About a Girl" are the obvious standouts that point toward the strum and bang attack that would catapult Nirvana to the top of the charts.) 15.00

SYNDROME 81 - Prisons Imaginaires TAPE (Between the quays, the docks, the cranes and the Brest arsenal, it’s been almost 10 years since Syndrome 81 got down to the heavy task of bringing 80's punk rock up to date. In just a few EPs, the band has become one of the best representatives of a new French scene internationally. Syndrome 81 manages the perfect blend of various influences of the second punk wave, from the american hardcore of Negative Approach to the french punk-rock of Camera Silens by way of the cold english punk of Blitz. Like an endless wandering in a drifting society, Syndrome 81’s music and lyrics are rough and cold. With Prisons Imaginaires, the songs become even more effective, and we can already imagine the next shows where the public will sing along to the brilliantly formulated refrains. Syndrome 81 describes the spleen of everyday life and the boredom of life in Brest, far from everything, like no other. Syndrome 81's first full length was long overdue but this time was used wisely to deliver a perfect album.) 12.00

VIOLENCIA - Viviendo Tiempos Aún Más Oscuros TAPE (A great hardcore punk band takes you on a journey, and VIOLENCIA brings you on a ride through a series of dystopian tales. Political, angry, talented, and hailing for Tijuana Mexico, VIOLENCIA have been tearing it up since 2019 including major tours through the west coast and DIY fest appearances. The band is like a spiritual successor or maybe non-affiliated extension of LOS CRUDOS, mixing a pissed political message and Spanish lyrics. VIOLENCIA mix dirges with blastbeats for a really varied twelve song 12” EP. Highly listenable, completely varied, and this will be an LP that is over before you know and you will flip from B side back to A and give it another listen before putting it away. In their words “El powerviolence no esta muerto!” Vinyl is sold out and we are soon working on a repress, this is a run of 100 cassettes.) 12.00
