LP

THE AUTUMN SIGHS - Green LP (The Autumn Sighs is a classic, 90´s loving shoegaze band from Siegen, Germany."Their sound meanders gracefully through melodious and dreamy swathes of blissful dream pop infused shoegaze coupled with soaring chorus progressions, thunderous drum patterns and addictively hazy instrumentation.“) 18.00

THE AUTUMN SIGHS - Bark DLP (With Bark, The Autumn Sighs are now coming out of cover with their first long-player in the form of a Double EP. The sound on the branches EP (2016) evolved more and more, up to the spherical green EP (2017), which was released by dreamsneverend records. The Bark EP's now manage to enclose the previous EP's and at the same time they create something new. The album is characterised by fuzzy, melancholic songs outside the 5 minutes, that slowly unfold and spread out like the crown of a tree. The drums for ‘inside’ were played by Denis, while the rest of the album was created with Felix on drums. The lyrics, as well as the gentle and flowing harmonies of Katha, delicately complete the swirling guitar sound of Ulrik. ) 25.00

BILL CALLAHAN - YTI⅃AƎЯ DLP (drag city - From the beautiful to the jarring, intrepid explorer Callahan charts a passage through all kinds of territory, pitting dreams of dreams against dreams of reality. When he makes it back to us, his old friends 'n acquaintances, we are reminded how much of a world it can be out there - and in here as well, where we live everyday. “And we’re coming out of dreams / And we’re coming back to dreams” is the first thing you hear Bill say as you remake your acquaintance on YTI⅃AƎЯ. Right out the gate, he’s standing in two places at once: meeting up with old friends behind the scenes and encountering them on the record, finding himself coming round the bend and then again as someone else on down the line. Like the character actor he played on Gold Record, writing stories about other people, telling jokes about everyone, and in singing them, becoming the songs.) 39.00

DAMBALA - Revelations DLP (emotional rescue - Returning to what the label does best, bringing to light music that might be otherwise overlooked, Emotional Rescue again examines the melting pot of West London music scene of the 1970s and 80s and the music of Dambala. Following the 7” reissue of the cult song Lorraine (ERC122) from their only album, Azania, as part of the label’s DISCO REGGAE LOVERS series last year, ‘Revelation’ now looks at their single releases, recorded between 1978 and 1980, spread across a 2 x 12” Double Pack and cut loud especially for DJ play. Growing out the fervent mid-70s multicultural music hub around and along the Harrow Road and Ladbroke Grove, a young Nigerian, Augustus Anyia, having joined his parents in the UK, grew up in the W9 / W11 axis of Maida Vale and Notting Hill. While still at school he utilised his interest in carpentry to fabricate a drum set and cajoling friends, soon formed a school band, before going on to learn rhythm and lead guitar, bass, keyboards, and percussion. ) 35.00

INDEX FOR WORKING MUSIK - Dragging the Needlework for The Kids at Uphole LP (tough love . Unbeknownst to its members, Index For Working Musik was born on an evening in late 2019 amidst the discovery of a collection of faded b&w photocopies that had been marinating on the floor of a urine-alley in the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona. An assortment of sacred and profane imagery were crumpled amongst an essay on early Christian hermits, entitled Men Possessed by God, the meaning of which was enticingly vague. Received together, they planted the seeds for a new endeavour. Though Max Oscarnold and Nathalia Bruno were already engaged in a creative ping-pong of sorts, the results to this point had only totaled a 30 min long ½ inch tape containing one track and four interludes. They needed a page and they needed ink, and they needed a place and it needed energy. Suddenly by chance or divine intervention, their experimental venture had been given form and direction.) 30.00

LONNIE HOLLEY - Oh Me Oh My LP (jajaguwar - Oh Me Oh My is both elegant and ferocious. It is stirring in one moment and a balm the next. It details histories both global and personal. Lonnie Holley’s harrowing youth and young manhood in the Jim Crow South are well-told at this point - his sale into a different home as a child for just a bottle of whiskey; his abuse at the infamous Mount Meigs correctional facility for boys; the destruction of his art environment by the Birmingham airport expansion. But Holley’s music is less a performance of pain endured and more a display of perseverance, of relentless hope. Intricately and lovingly produced by LA’s Jacknife Lee (The Cure, REM, Modest Mouse), there is both kinetic, shortwave funk that call to mind Brian Eno’s My Life in the Bush of Ghosts and the deep space satellite sounds of Eno’s ambient works. But it’s a tremendous achievement in sonics all its own.) 29.00

MANUEL GÖTTSCHING - E2-E4 LP (restock - E2-E4, released in 1984, is a solo recording by German musician and Ash Ra Tempel founder Manuel Göttsching. The album consists of one minimalistic, hour-long electronic track that Göttsching recorded in one take using a sequencer, with improvised keyboards, metallic percussion, and guitar playing. The album is named after the most popular opening chess move 1. e2-e4 (which is expressed in long algebraic notation). A noteworthy pun on E2-E4 exists—when expressed in standard scientific pitch notation, the harmonic range of a guitar's strings extends from E2 (82.407 Hz) to E4 (329.63 Hz).) 25.00

MIKE MAJKOWSKI - Coast LP (fragments - Limited edition of 300 copies. Mike Majkowski is a double bassist / music-maker from Sydney, based in Berlin. Active across a wide range of experimental music since the early 2000s, he has released music with numerous projects. Coast is his twelfth solo recording.) 23.00

MOVIETONE - s/t DLP (world of echo - Double disc set feat. the original album plus seven additional tracks, three of which are exclusive to the vinyl pressing. World Of Echo are proud to announce the long-awaited reissue, of the self-titled debut album by Bristol’s Movietone. Originally released in 1995 by Planet Records and reissued on CD in 2003 by The Pastels’ Geographic Music imprint, this is the first time Movietone has been reissued on vinyl. An expanded double-LP edition, it includes the extra tracks from the 2003 CD (their first two singles, and an unreleased demo of “Chance Is Her Opera”), and adds three more unearthed gems: demos of “Alkaline Eye” and “She Smiled Mandarine Like”, and an early take of “Late July”, recorded in a garden by Dave Pearce (Flying Saucer Attack) in 1993. Taken together, this is the definitive collection of music from the first phase of one of Bristol’s most remarkable groups.) 35.00

MOVIETONE - Peel Sessions LP + CD (textile - Movietone were part of the Bristol scene in the 1990's that contained Flying Saucer Attack, Third Eye Foundation and Crescent. Band members from all three of these bands played in Movietone, with Kate Wright being the main songwriter.

Signed to Planet Records, Movietone did their first John Peel Session a few weeks after the release if their debut single 'she smiled mandarine like' in 1994. They went on to do three Peel Sessions in total between 1994-1997 and moved to Domino Records and Drag City in 1997.
These sessions do not exist online and have never previously been heard by anyone other than those who listened to the original broadcasts! As Movietone are no longer making music (they have been suceeded by 1000 dawns), these archive recordings are even more special. They contain early or alternative versions of songs from Movietone's first three records:'Movietone',Planet 1995/Geographic 2004, 'Day and Night' Domino/Drag City 1997, 'The Blossom Filled Streets' Domino/Drag City 2000, along with a song from their pre-movietone days as 'Lynda's Strange Vacation'. The last session is unique because Matt Elliott (Third Eye Foundation) is playing on them - he had left the band by the time that the album was recorded and released 3 years later.) 25.00

THE PARTY DOZEN - The Living Man LP (temporary - Party Dozen is a sonic partnership loosely based on improvisation between saxophonist Kirsty Tickle and percussionist Jonathan Boulet. Their debut album, The Living Man, earned critical acclaim upon release in 2017. They've toured relentlessly ever since - each performance a trial of physicality and an expression of maximalism. Like the legendary Dirty Three, the members seem to meld into one mind, oblivious to the viewer.

THE SHAPIROS - Gone By Fall: The Collected Works of The Shapiros LP (world of echo - Gone By Fall – The Collected Works of The Shapiros, is a 12-song compilation by a here today, gone tomorrow pop group formed by Pam Berry (Black Tambourine, The Pines, Glo-worm, Castaway Stones, Belmondo, etc.) and Bart Cummings (The Cat’s Miaow, Hydroplane, Bart & Friends, etc.), while the latter was in Washington, DC in 1994. Tapping into that city’s inspiring independent pop scene, looking for like-minded souls, Berry and Cummings were joined by Scooter, a.k.a. R. Scott Kelly (Veronica Lake, Belmondo, Sabine, etc.), and Trish Roy (Belmondo, Heartworms). The Shapiros may only have existed for a few weeks, during August 1994, but during that brief window of opportunity, the quartet recorded twelve gorgeous pop songs – nine originals, each a model of concision and restraint, and three covers, which gift the listener some of the coordinates to the group’s sound, a meeting point of C86 and the Brill Building Sound: lovely versions of Beat Happening’s “Cry For A Shadow”, 14 Iced Bears’ “Cut”, and The Shirelles’ “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow”. ) 27.00

STARAN WAKE - s/t LP (hands in the dark - Staran Wake is a collaborative project by Andrew Bunsell and Tom Relleen. After several years creating music in various groups together, followed by countless hazy late night recording sessions at each other’s studios and crisper afternoons producing the results, the British duo’s musical vision materialised with this self-titled instrumental album, taking nearly 4 years to complete. This collection of pieces is composed with a wide range of instruments and combines multiple dark, experimental genres to form a rather lavish and unique proposition. It is imprinted with intense turgid textures, interweaving the hyper-tactile characteristics of analogue sound with field recording elements and sound effects. Although the project’s name suggests a rather celestial concept (‘an’ means moon in one of the early protolanguages), the music actually explores the intimate feelings of transient space and otherness. It uses subtle build-ups of tension and repetitive progressions to shape an impression of distended time and space. More than a mere treat for the ears, it’s a multi-layered album that invites reflection. All tracks composed, performed and recorded by Andrew Bunsell and Tom Relleen at Dalston Studios, Space Studios and The Bunker, London, UK Arranged, produced and mixed by Andrew Bunsell and Tom Relleen at The Bunker, London, UK Mixed and mastered by Marta Salogni at Studio Zona, London, UK Artwork and design by Jonas Meier) 26.00

TAKASHI KOKUBO & ANDREA ESPERTI - Music For A Cosmic Garden DLP (wrwtf -A new collaborative album by Japanese ambient / environmental legend Takashi Kokubo (Ion Series) and Italian & Swiss trombonist Andrea Esperti (Esperti Project): MUSIC FOR A COSMIC GARDEN.  Recorded during the heights of the pandemic and completed in February 2021, the splendid ethereal soundscape created by Kokubo and Esperti.Takashi KOKUBO is a Japanese environmental musician who produces healing music that gently resonates with people’s hearts. The founder of Studio Ion, he has released more than 20 albums that include the highly sought-after Ion Series. His track "A Dream Sails Out to Sea, Scene 3" was featured on Light in the Attic’s Grammy-nominated Kankyō Ongaku compilation. For fans of environmental, ambient, cosmic escapes, meditative atmospherics, and gardening in space. ) 33.00

TETE MBAMBISA - Tete's Big Sound LP (Mad about records - The album Tete’s Big Sound emerged during a golden age for local South African jazz recordings in the 1970s. Issued by the independent As-Shams/The Sun label in 1976, it was the first album attributed to pianist Tete Mbambisa as a solo artist. Yet, Mbambisa was already a seasoned composer, arranger, bandleader and performer by the mid-1970s - an artist at the peak of his powers who had patiently cultivated his craft to create his enduring debut.Born in 1942 and raised in South Africa's Eastern Cape province, Mbambisa’s childhood home also served as the family’s small business - an informal tavern where social gatherings orbited around his mother’s carefully curated music collection and live performances by a local pianist. His musical roots are thus deeply embedded in marabi - the syncopated piano sound of urban black South African culture in the 1950s that took cues from American jazz, blues and ragtime while fostering the sensibilities that would shape modern South African jazz. ) 30.00

UNWOUND - Unwound LP (numero - Back in print for the first time this century, first time for tip-on jacket, the definitive edition remastered from the original tapes.Meeting at the halfway point between Bleach and Damaged, Unwound's 1995 self-titled album arrived years after the original trio of Vern Rumsey, Justin Trosper, and Brandt Sandeno made their Avast Studios debut. Compiling their EPs for Kill Rock Stars and Gravity Records with five more session outtakes, Unwound was released on Rumsey's Punk In My Vitamins as the band began flirting with the mainstream. Witness a band's prehistory as it plays out in a feral maelstrom of screaming, distortion, feedback, and abrasive promise.) 27.00

V/A - Ghost Riders DLP (efficient space - BACK IN STOCK - A North American road trip of coming of age garage soul mapped by Ivan Liechti, Ghost Riders is Efficient Space’s latest narrative compilation, hovering in a liminal emotional ravine between moonlight melancholy, teenage heartache and unchecked, unrealised ambition. Across 17 open hearted ballads recorded 1965-1974, the 2LP collects and connects dots between British Invasion fanatics, child prodigies, the loners and the luckless, in a kind of trans-continental survey of those swept up in rock’n’roll mania and buoyed by local newspaper ads promising fame and gold records. From the tangerine dreams of 8th grade all-girl combo The Mod 4 to the tri-state jukebox aspiring echoes of The Tempters, The Yardleys' poetic Farfisa vamp and lilting folk pop, and The Landlords’ weepy break up b-side blues, these are mostly one shots by dreamers whose experience was brief before being checked back to the reality of suburban normality and realistic career options. Hailing from the regional backwaters of Illinois, Arkansas, Nevada, Massachusetts, Ohio, Idaho, Texas and beyond, the licensed artists were scouted by way of local fire departments, spiritualist fellowships and animal welfare centres, often barely a stones throw from where their contributions were originally laid. ) 33.00

V/A - Praise Poems Vol. 9 DLP (Tramp - After 8 years and 8 volumes, the Tramp Records crew invites you to join them on yet another enlightening journey into soulful Jazz, Folk and AOR from the 1970s and 80s. This 9th volume contains sixteen (almost) forgotton Soul, Jazz and AOR/yacht rock nuggets from between the mid 1970s and early 1980s. One of the many highlights is the opening track by Ronnie Miller, balearic soul at its very best. But that's just the beginning. Praise Poems Vol.9 covers a wide selection of genres, from AOR (Leaves of Autumn, Mirage and Germany's own People) to pop-soul-rock (Stroke, Tom Miles and Jan Lewis Group), from Terry Callier-type folk-soul (Danish-Swedish singer & guitarist Mikael Neumann, Babe and the previously unreleased "Love Is Not For Real"), to jazz (Dianne Elliott and Phil Palumbo), completing the set with a couple of melancholic soul and psych beauties, most notably AOH's mind-blowing "The Answer Lies In Love". ) 28.00

V/A - Sky Girl DLP (back in stock - "A sentimental journey through folk-pop, DIY new Wave and art music micro presses 1961 to 1991.“ "People who are sort of more the outcasts of society tend to tell it like it is" – Scott Seskind, 2015. Sky Girl is a mysteriously unshakeable companion, a deeply melancholic and sentimental journey through folk-pop, new wave and art music micro presses that span 1961-1991. A seemingly disparate suite of selections of forgotten fables by more or less neverknowns, Sky Girl forms a beautifully coherent and utterly sublime whole deftly compiled by French collectors DJ Sundae and Julien Dechery.  From Scott Seskind's adolescent musical road movie to Karen Marks' icy Oz-wave, the charming DIY storytelling of Italian-American go-getter Joe Tossini and the ethereal slow dance themes of Parisian artists Nini Raviolette and Hugo Weris, Sky Girl resonates on a wide spectrum historically, geographically and stylistically. It unites in a singular, longing, almost intangible ambience. ) 28.00
