7“

THE CHISEL / MESS split 7“ (Bloody fucking hell! Two of modern Oi's finest together on a slab, you say?! You bet your ass! THE CHISEL (London, England) and MESS (Guadalajara, Mexico) have teamed up to deliver quite the sonic melee of a split 7" featuring two new ones from each group that showcase the balance of proficient songwriting and brute force that both bands have gained a well deserved reputation for over the past couple years. And as the The Chisel Boys' reiterative chorus resounds through the speakers while you're spinning this platter, you'll know that it's true - you truly ain't seen nothing yet as this is but a taste of what's to come from both of these stalwarts of the genre. Featuring art and layout by the great Nicky Rat, this record is a one time pressing so snag it while ya can or don't! COME ON NOW!!! ) 15.00

DANIEL STRIPED TIGER / TEENAGE COOL KIDS - Friendship 7" (blue vinyl - just a few Indie / Post-Hardcore / Emo call it whatever you want.) 10.00

SIRKKA 7“ (sorry state - Kuluttava Kone, the 2020 cassette from Sirkka, has been in constant rotation at Sorry State since it came out, and when the opportunity arose to release Sirkka’s debut record, we couldn’t say yes fast enough. While Sirkka began as a two-person recording project based in New York, on Viivyttely they’ve expanded to a four-piece lineup, albeit one whose members are spread across the US east coast and Leipzig, Germany. Vocalist Sanja’s commanding snarl serves as further evidence that Finnish is the best language for hardcore punk, while the band draws from their roots in early 80s New England hardcore and their fascination with 80s Finnish punk, creating a unique sound that fuses the former’s brute force to the latter’s subtle sense of melody. It’s like Jerry’s Kids, SSD, Rattus, and Kaaos in one giant pigpile. Five tracks of hardcore punk that crackle with intensity.) 13.00

VSS 7“ (GSL - The VSS formed in 1995 after the breakup of the hardcore group Angel Hair. Vocalist Sonny Kay and guitarist Josh Hughes had both played in Angel Hair; the rest of the lineup consisted of bassist Andrew Douglas Rothbard and Dave Clifford. They quickly released several 7" records and toured the United States, achieving nationwide notice among the underground punk scene with acclaim from publications such as Maximum Rocknroll and Flipside. Midway through their career, the band relocated to San Francisco. Their only album, Nervous Circuits, was released on Honey Bear Records in 1997, and the group broke up shortly thereafter.
Their use of synthesizers and keyboards in a hardcore punk setting was uncommon for its time, but has been recognized as an influence on bands such as The Faint and Death From Above 1979.) 10.00

WARTHOG - s/t 7“ (US press - NYC hardcore punks WARTHOG return with what could possibly be their best recorded output yet. It's been a couple years since their EP's on Katorga Works and Iron Lung Records were unleashed upon us all and in that time the members of the Hog have perfected their particular formula and have finally delivered four more tracks of pounding hardcore savagery that stands out ten fold from most of the bullshit that fans of the genre are bombarded with on a regular basis. Are you a functioning human in a functioning world? Each record comes in a glue pocket sleeve along with a two colour risograph printed insert and download code) 14.00

LP

CHRIS DREIER & TIM LÖHDE - MK - CT LP (MK/CT is the duo of Chris Dreier (ex Die Tödliche Doris) and Tim Löhde. Spree is the main river that flows through Berlin. It is not often that it gets cold enough for the river to freeze over but a few years ago, the ice lay solid. Chris Dreier recorded the sounds of the ice, the cracking and popping as the temperature changed, and sent the recordings to Tim Löhde. Löhde responded, and that was the beginning of the musical correspondence that defines MK/CT. Since then, Dreier and Löhde have sent sounds to each other —field recordings, voices, recordings of synthesizers and pianos — with the intent of composing incrementally. Adding, removing and transforming the composition with each receipt and return. One element and one layer at the time. Back and forth, until the finished piece emerges. Vinyl edition comes with sticker sheet.Chris Dreier is a composer, performer and artist residing in Berlin, and an early member of Die Tödliche Doris. In 2017, she returned to the project to record Sprechpause (Fang Bomb, FB027) with Wolfgang Müller. Tim Löhde is visual and sound artist based in Düsseldorf. Composed and performed by Chris Dreier and Tim Löhde. Mastered by Martin Bowes at The Cage Studios.) 19.00

CLARKO - Welcome To Clarko LP (Iron lung - America's Little Brother" is back after a lengthy stay at the Deformatory for the Young and Well Adjusted. It's been a productive placement that has birthed the debut dozen dubbed "Welcome To Clarko". An arms wide invitation to the double mad anxious new wave/brainpunk world of smart-mouthed subversion, man-made aneurysms, knee-jerk antagonism and juvenile gambling addictions. In short, a delight for the senseless. ) 28.00

CRYPTAE - Decrepit Collecttion LP (sentiment ruin. Dutch experimental raw death metal deformity Cryptae bring you "Decrepit Collection", a glorious 12" vinyl compilation containing their unparalleled 2017 self titled debut demo tape on side A (for the first time ever on vinyl), and 2019's 20 minute single-track EP "Vestigal" on side B, both remastered to their their most sonically crushing form yet. This surreal artifact of complete sonic delirium revisits Cryptae's birth as an authentic error of creation and documents the early development of their hallucinatory and completely unprecedented sound as they threw derailing raw punk, spastic primitive death metal, rogue strains of underdeveloped noise and industrial and free-form improvisation into a deformed and glitched out experiment of aberrant abstract brutality.) 26.00

DROP DEAD - Discography Vol 2 LP (armaggedon - American political hardcore thrash/fastcore band from Providence, Rhode Island. Formed in January 1991. Discography Volume 2 compiles 42 tracks and spans the years 1995-2013. This includes a fully remixed Hostile EP, and the splits with Unholy Grave, Totalitar, Look Back And Laugh, Converge, Systematic Death, Ruidosa Inmundicia, and Brainoil as well as compilation tracks and the Arms Race EP. )28.00

GUAYANA PUNCH LINE - maximum smashism LP (Prank -Anthemic terror, swathed in feedback and noise and shining guitar wail. Bombarding crunch edged by spastic fits of thrash. Emo-violence is dead...Long live Smashism!!! A barreling quick punk attack from former members of ANTISCHISM, IN/HUMANITY and .FUCKINGCOM. 10 songs with Dark Humor & political impact.)15.00

HANS-A-PLAST - s/t LP (he year is 1978: two young women, two young men — Bettina, Renate, Jens and Micha — form a group and name themselves after the aforementioned plasters (Hansaplast). Before long, their fans are sticking plasters on their leather jackets. Meanwhile, Bettina, is on the lookout for someone to sing lead vocals so she can concentrate on the drums in the band instead. Back from a school exchange trip to the United States, where she learned how to anaesthetise boredom with whiskey, LSD and Patti Smith, Annette’s vocal talents are in the service of a girls‘ choir when they find her. In the two years since her USA sojourn, she has jobbed her way through Amsterdam and London as the sound of punk grows louder. She sees Elvis Costello, Ian Dury, and UB40 at the Vortex, but it’s the Slits and Poly Styrene with her X-Ray Spex who trigger an epiphany. Now she knows what she wants to do, or more precisely, what she has to do. Whilst in London, a teacher from Braunschweig implores Annette to return home to complete her studies and take her Abitur. Shadowed by the fear of nuclear war and a new generation of the Red Army Faction, Annette never actually completes her exams at the IGS Braunschweig school, but she does start her first band there: Slime (not the Slime that went on to greater fame) mix original songs with Sex Pistols covers. Annette takes »Man of Stone« (one of their own) with her when she joins Hans-A-Plast, the band she meets in November 1978 at the first No Fun Festival, where Hans-A-Plast and Slime play together. Bettina asks Annette if she would like to sing for them — yes, she would. Fast forward to the rehearsal bunker as Bettina hands Annette the lyrics to three songs: »Lederhosentyp«, »Rock ’n’ Roll Freitag« and »Hau ab du stinkst«. The creative spark ignites and the 3 songs soon become 13."Hans-A-Plast" is the first reissue of the three Hans-A-Plast albums.) 28.00

HANS-A-PLAST - 2 LP (While tens of thousands still revel in the sound of the debut album, Hans-A-Plast have already left their 1-2-3-4 punk days behind them. The band undergoes a veritable metamorphosis. Annette throws herself wholeheartedly into her role as lyricist, finding inspiration in the likes of Sex Gang Children and hanging out in the Rote Kuh bar frequented by British soldiers stationed in Hanover — one of whom, Chas Briggs, designs the back cover of the new LP. Recorded in November 1980 at the Toncooperative studio in Hanover (like its predecessor), the second album virtually explodes with instrumental urgency: its dissonant guitars and increasingly avant-garde arrangements are reminiscent of the New York no wave scene. A singular nervous tremor is suddenly interrupted before everything rushes ahead again, left, right, radical rhythm shifts, bass drum quarter beats encircle atonal saxophone, nursery rhymes are fed through the meat grinder ... this hectic pace is reflected in Annette’s vocal melodies, alternating between a choirgirl and a caw, whooping, almost yodelling, enthusiastically singing of self-immolation or murder threats on (long since expired) actors. "2" is the second reissue of the three Hans-A-Plast albums.) 28.00

HANS-A-PLAST - Ausradiert LP (One day, the phone rings — it’s Hans-A-Plast on the line, asking Annette to head home so they can get to work on what will be the third Hans-A-Plast album. For the first time, the band enlist a new producer - Jan Němec is at the controls - and record in a new location, the Horus Sound Studio in Hanover. The tracklist includes »Monstertanz«, a song written by Annette in England and subsequently adapted by the band (the first time they create a song in this fashion). Hans-A-Plast then shoot their first (and last) music video, a DIY effort which debuts on Peter Illmann’s »Formel Eins«, a popular and pivotal television show. »Ausradiert« is released in early 1983, another demonstration of Hans-A-Plast doing what they do best: ignoring what has gone before and going off at a new tangent. Gone are the sudden breaks and nervous shivers of the second album, ceding to a more conventional song structure and sharper production. There is a more typically eighties flair to the band’s sound now, as the vocals and Bettina’s drums swirl in reverb. Renate’s bass slices like a knife and dual guitars ring out crystal clear. Lyrically, of course, nothing is off limits: Annette offers advice on how to be »Gut im Bett« (good in bed), rails against the sanctimoniousness of Christianity; cannibalism, stalking, the list goes on ... The door closes on the band’s No Fun label in the autumn of 1983. Whereas the first two albums sold over 100,000 copies worldwide, »Ausradiert« only manages 10,000. Ticket sales are down when the band hit the road in April and May (1983). The band begin to argue about which musical direction they should take in future. A sticking plaster doesn’t stick for ever. Echoing the name of the third LP, Hans-A-Plast find themselves ausradiert (erased)."Ausradiert" is the third reissue of Hans-A-Plast three albums.) 28.00

HELL -s/t LP (sentiment ruin - Sentient Ruin is proud to bring you the new album from Salem, Oregon-based apocalyptically heavy and wretchedly visionary extreme sludge-doom behemoths HELL. Written and recorded in total isolation over a span of three years by sole mastermind M.S.W, this new self-titled opus is the reaffirmation and consecration of one of modern doom's most harrowing, demoralizing, and imaginative prospects, and the final seal on their status of absolute legends in American underground extreme metal. Spanning seven inhumanly crushing songs, for over forty-five minutes of colossal and earth-shaking audial torture—Hell's new album is already a classic, and a tyrannically iconic masterpiece that shall forever be remembered as one of the most awe-inducing turning points in extreme doom, having raised the bar of what "heavy" is to implausible heights, and redefined the concept of musical oppression through a new realm of extremism.) 30.00

HORROR VACUI - In Darkness You Will Feel Right LP (This album is the long awaited follow up to their debut "In Darkness You Will Feel Alright". Holy Sisters of Mercy! Horror Vacui are from Bologna, Italy, and this newer LP is much more gothic rock in sound than a lot of their previous stuff. There are still some fairly uptempo tracks on the LP (like “The Right Cure” and “Time”) but the LP as a whole is mainly mid-tempo, guitar-heavy trad gothic rock. There are still some other influences at play — for example, Track 4, “Time,” sounds like it really wants to be TSOL’s “Dance With Me” — but it’s mostly the old Leeds UK goth bands and their contemporaries, like Terminal Gods, that seem to figure largely in Horror Vacui’s sonic output here. That’s not a bad, thing though: Horror Vacui’s LP is one of the best representations of that genre, and the political bent of the band keep it from becoming another meaningless, self-indulgent goth wank fest. The band is careful to hold onto their DIY punk roots)23.00

LÄUTEN DER SEELE - Ertrunken im seichtesten Gewässer LP (world of echo - The third album by Christian Schoppik of Brannten Schnüre features two longform tracks, both clocking in at 20 minutes. Somewhere in the Lower-Franconian vineyards lies a hidden and mostly unknown canyon, a place that often returns to the thoughts and dreams of Läuten der Seele’s Christian Schoppik. Though a much rarer occurrence now as a consequence of environmental change, chance encounters upon the area in the past would sometimes reveal small ponds amongst the reeds, teeming with life and populated by colonies of newts and the now endangered yellow bellied toad. The transience of the water and the wildlife it hosts, dependent on season or climate, lends the area an almost fantastical, dream-like quality. Was it ever even there at all? A secret place that may or may not be present holds vast appeal to some enquiring minds… Ertrunken Im Seichtesten Gewässer, the third Läuten der Seele album in two years, is inspired directly by these experiences. Translating as ‘drowned in the shallowest stretch of water’, a title as pregnant with dread as it is wonder, the themes present speak both to personal memories and a wider understanding of place and time, and how we might interpret our own position within an ever-changing, sometimes disappearing world.) 29.00

MISERY / S.D.S. - split LP (The MISERY / S.D.S. split LP is available now for the first time in 31 years. Misery: Long-running crust band from Minneapolis, MN.  SDS: Japanese hardcore punk band.) 24.00

MICHAEL HURLEY - Sweetkorn LP (Mississippi - reimagined version of Michael Hurley's 2002 masterpiece! Some of the most beautiful recordings of his catalog available on vinyl for the first time. Sweetkorn was originally released on CD only. This version has been remixed to bring Michael's voice and guitar to the forefront. We've also omitted a couple songs from the O.G version and added a completely unheard tune from the session.
A masterpiece featuring all time Hurley hits like 'Oh My Stars', 'The Rue Of Ruby Whores', 'The End Of The Road' and 'Got Over It.") 27.00

NIGHTFELL - never comes the storm LP (LP Version in "SpotGlass" Gatefold Sleeve and Hand Numbered Obi Strip #/300 - A doom influenced death metal duo from Portland, Oregon, USA. Fourth Full-Length album from Nightfell.) 32.00

ORCHID - Gatefold LP (Ebullition - FINALLY REPRESSED ON COLORED VINYL. The final recordings of Orchid. These 19 tracks are probably the best songs that Orchid ever recorded. Their sound has been honed and defined, and the recording perfectly captures Orchid's diverse combination of arty sensibilities, heartfelt emotive song writing, Mohinder-esque drumming, frantic precision, controlled mayhem, and chaotic adrenaline. An excellent record that even surpasses their previous releases. Definitely Orchid's opus. Both the lp and cd come packaged in gatefold sleeves. The various Orchid members have gone on to form Bucket Full of Teeth, The Wolves, and the Panthers.) 25.00

PEACE DE RESISTANCE - Bits and Pieces LP (Moses Brown of Texas punk bands Institute and Glue released his first cassette under the name Peace de Résistance - a solo project where he plays all the instruments - in October 2020. That cassette found Brown bouncing his growing songwriting chops off the fuzz-drenched Zamrock sound of Paul Ngozi, Witch, and Amanaz. However, Bits and Pieces - Peace de Résistance’s first full-length and first vinyl release - has a wider vista. Brown describes the sound as “demented glam rock,” and while you can hear remnants of the Zamrock influence in the sinuously melodic fuzz guitar, the more pertinent frames of reference are Diamond Dogs -era Bowie, 70s Lou Reed, and Iggy’s The Idiot and Lust for Life. Bits and Pieces recalls those records’ potent combination of artistic ambition, street-level rock and roll swagger, and pop charm, but filtered through the DIY punk aesthetics of Brown’s previous work. Lyrically, the album documents life on the fringes in a hyper-surveilled 2020s America, with songs like “Don’t 1099 Me,” “We Got the Right to Be Healthy,” and “Exploitation” wrenching plainspoken poetry from an existence that will be all too familiar to anyone at odds with capitalism. After nine timeless art-rock songs, Bits and Pieces lets us down gently with “Sitting in Disguise.” This motorik-inspired instrumental offers a rickety, dilapidated update of Neu!’s seamless futurism, implying that the only appropriate response to our predicament is to keep moving forward.) 26.00

PINK TURNS BLUE - Meta LP (Recorded on the heels of their debut album, If Two World Kiss (reissued in tandem by Dais Records) and informed by the band’s oscillating live synergy and bolstered by a boon of new equipment and texture, Pink Turns Blue’s sophomore 1988 album Meta was a conceptual leap predicated by the study of sound and exploration of it's edges. With the same fervor that Joy Division mined deeper, darker, and less linear on their second album Closer, Meta is a cohesive meditation on atmosphere and how every note and passage can traverse space individually, as part of a larger narrative. Singles “Touch the Skies” and “Your Master Is Calling” are the albums cornerstones; airy, steady, and driving tracks with a depth of melody and orchestration that sparked a shimmering new example of dark pop. The instrumental balance throughout the album creates a strobe light journey later echoed throughout gothic compatriots exploring minor keys and nocturnal themes.) ) 27.00

PINK TURNS BLUE - If Two Worlds Kiss LP (Dais - Founded in Cologne, Germany in 1985, Pink Turns Blue's blend of atmospheric pop informed by European post-punk contemporaries and buzzing punk dissonance of Hüsker Dü (the band is named after the Zen Arcade song) immediately tapped into a new canon of sound that was foundational to the emergence of darkwave. Tom Elbern (vocals, guitars)formerly of Seltsame Zustände and Mic Jogwer (vocals, bass) were joined by Marcus Giltjes (drums), and Ruebi Walter (keyboards) and caught on through diligently pounding the club circuit and circulating their early, self-financed recordings. Despite the commitment to their craft and initial grassroots success, securing label support proved difficult as they refused to sing in German and their sober tone lacked the shimmer of pop and optimism that executives felt formulaic to success. Still, the band persisted with the duo of Elbern and Jogwer sharing vocal duties and song credits, each informing the other's compositions until Elbern halved the song production and left the band in 1987. Continuing to perform and record as a three piece, the band eventually found roots with FunFactory!, an independent label based in Münster whose manager Axel Seitz shared the band's appreciation of the Velvet Underground and Andy Warhol's Factory vision, urging them to forego releasing singles and focus on a full-length. Released in 1987 and now remastered by Josh Bonati for vinyl release through Dais, If Two Worlds Kiss is a seminal offering to the canon of dark wave's DNA - a liquid lesson in melody, mood, and pacing - each track continuously adding to the journey like a unique push pin on a map of melancholy. Defined by their dynamic song-writing, their debut added a new urgency and depth to guitar-driven gothic rock by allowing fast songs such as the lead single "Walking on Both Sides" to possess the same sullen punch and melancholy as slower anthems like "When the Hammer Comes Down", which derives its power on the downbeat. More rhythmic variety is added through beat-driven dancefloor tracks with triumphant singalong choruses like "That Was You", showing they could swing hard - as well as swirl_ Dais is proud to present the first ever official reissue of this classic deathrock / darkwave masterpiece. Limited vinyl edition is repackaged from the original art assets, in 24 pt reverse board jackets with inner euro sleeves with lyrics. Includes bonus track not included on original vinyl release "A Moment Sometimes".) 27.00

SILVER GODLING - Ravel LP (howling mine - Silver / White Vinyl. Silver Godling is the project of Emily McWilliams that pulls from her classical roots while exploring chamber pop, dark pop, and electronic music. McWilliams has long been Thou’s secret weapon. For over a decade, she has sung, played piano, and helped arrange pieces on the group’s recordings. Most notably, she rose to the forefront on the band’s 2018 EP Inconsolable, a largely acoustic endeavor that featured her as the primary vocalist on multiple tracks. While McWilliams is not a core member, her contributions have helped shape the group’s prolific output. Now, McWilliams has released her second Silver Godling album, Ravel, via Gilead Media, Strange Daisy, and Howling Mine. The album features her backed by an all-star cast of New Orleans underground musicians, including past and present members of groups like Gland, Little Death, and The World Is A Vampire. McWilliams also sparked a creative collaboration with photographer Teddie Taylor to shape the album’s distinct visual aesthetics. Combining their insights, the duo has crafted a massive booklet that comes with vinyl copies of Ravel.) 26.00

VINE - forever LP (council - Early emo band from Kalamazoo, Michigan that formed in 1991 and disbanded in 1993. Originally the band was named Firesale, but after a small lineup change, the band changed their name to Vine. Both Charles Wood and Ryan Gage later went on to form Broken Hearts Are Blue with members from bands Ordination of Aaron and Current.) 36.00

YAPHET KOTTO - We Bury Our Dead Alive LP (Ebullition - mThe return of a classic from this century’s first decade. Yaphet Kotto were from Santa Cruz, California, after several years together this was their third full-length, (released in 2004), containing ten emotionally charged songs that are both melodic and hard hitting.) 17.00

ZORN - s/t LP (Finally, the long-awaited debut album from Philadelphia’s Zorn. While Zorn’s theatrical, (literally) scorching live shows are the stuff of legend, it would be a grave mistake to think the chaos they summon is all about the flaming swords, makeup, and leather corsets. Like Alice Cooper and David Bowie before them, Zorn knows you gotta have the songs to back up the image. Zorn’s metal-punk draws on death rock melody, intricate thrash riffing, and the bulldozing power of Discharge-inspired hardcore bands, but the songs are as infectious as they are intense. As with early Metallica, tracks like “Already Dead” and “Delco Devil Mosh” are built on memorable melodies that, in another time and place, might have formed the backbone of a killer glam rock single. I’m happy with my current reality, though, where Zorn is the kind of band who puts a devil standing atop a pile of flaming skulls on the cover of their album.) 26.00

V/A KLAR! 80 LP (Bureau B -This compilation represents an initial – and long overdue – foray into the years 1980 - 82, when KLAR! 80 was a cassette label, paired with a shop of the same name in Düsseldorf. Founded by Rainer Rabowski, KLAR!80 released 18 cassettes of varying length and a box set containing three 12” vinyl Eps which fetch handsome prices among collectors nowadays.  The KLAR!80 - Ein Kassettenlabel aus Düsseldorf 1980-1982 collection reaches even further back in time than the SAMMLUNG - Düsseldorfer Kassettenmusik 1982-1989 (BB236/2017) collection, similarly curated by Stefan Schneider, which focused on the mid-1980s Düsseldorf cassette scene. It captures the brief period between the end of punk and the looming capitalisation and digitalisation of so many aspects of life.) 29.00

CD

ORCHID - Totality CD (clean late - This much anticipated release fully documents all of Orchid's hard to find old singles, splits, compilation tracks and one unreleased song in one convenient package. A total of 24 re-mastered tracks, unavailable on CD until now, sound their best ever and are accompianied by a 20 page booklet of record art and photos. Finally, everyone can have a complete Orchid collection. Packaged in hand stamped red cases.) 16.00

TAPE

NIGHT PUNCH - Where Sins Bloom So Does Death TAPE (There is a creature coming from the cocaine infested waters of the river Alster and it's looking for the deadly blow: NIGHT PUNCH from Hamburg have unleashed their debut „Where sins bloom so does death“, that is brutal and insidious at the same time. What the hell happened in 2019? Five ex-members of fine Garagepunk-bands wake up in burned out underground parking garage. Where shadows give birth to more shadows something was taken shape, that's now captured by NIGHT PUNCH on tape. An intense Synth-Punk-monolith of 13 songs coming blazing fast at you, taking a short rest, only to hit even harder afterwards. Take a breath inbetween, when synth-melodies straight out of late 70ies horror movies announce the next attack. Beware! NIGHT PUNCH act uncompromising, but not blunt: razor sharp guitar riffs cut through and drive everything in front of them with the restless drums in unholy union. MicroBrute und MicroKorg-synth are not this dominant, they create a dark atmosphere and a hookline here and there – biting like acid. The vocal are another piece of the puzzle - ragged/hectic, then disgusted/resigned again – a good fit to the lyrics, that range from existentialist self-disgust to nightmarish metamorphoses a la Lynch or Cronenberg. There is even the wish to quit civilization and to live in a barrel like Diogenes. „Where sin bloom so does death“ was recorded by NIGHT PUNCH by themselves between summer 2022 and spring 2023. Drum recording, mix and mastering by Gregor Gerken at Rawcat Recordings. The cassette tape with a running time of 32:40 minutes will be released by It's Eleven Records. ) 8.00
