NIGHTJET - Warrior Of Love 7“ (Nach langer Kapitalismusbeutelei wurde endlich auch unsere Herzglut auf Vinyl gepresst! „In 1984 three brothers K. Earnest, Rusty Meyer and Harper Owen Jackson from Brettingen, Colorado formed the band NIGHTJET after dropping out of high school because the future they were promised did not live up to their expectations of a good life. This was the beginning of a never ending journey of love… The ancient legends say there is a deep friendship to the guys formerly known as El Mariachi. This first release by these 80s Rock gods comes on black vinyl in a 300g sleeve with a thick Inlay including all the fantastic lyrics and an impressive cover design which will brighten your night.“) 6.00

LP

ALDOUS HARDING - Warm Chris LP (4AD - An artist of rare calibre, Aldous Harding does more than sing; she conjures a singular intensity. The artist has announced details of Warm Chris new studio album, the follow-up to 2019’s acclaimed Designer. For Warm Chris, the Aotearoa New Zealand musician reunited with producer John Parish, continuing a professional partnership that began in 2017 and has forged pivotal bodies of work (2017’s Party and the aforementioned Designer). All ten tracks were recorded at Rockfield Studios in Wales, the album includes contributions from H. Hawkline, Seb Rochford, Gavin Fitzjohn, John and Hopey Parish and Jason Williamson (Sleaford Mods).) 25.00

ANADOL - Felicita LP (A sense of authentic exploration, introspection and celebration coats every inch of Anadol’s latest album. After 2019’s Uzun Havalar she returns with an album that continues to explore a variety of deeply embedded musical traditions while also hurtling into new terrain. The music and influences - as well as the history, culture and geography behind them - that make up Atila as an artist all coalesce to create something entirely new. The result is something that is simultaneously exploring history and tradition while harnessing innovative modern sounds and techniques. “If there is any tradition I am somehow connected to, or influenced by, then it’s multi-genres,” she says. “Such as Turkish Pop and Arabesk music from this country where I grew up. There is a connection to folk and also French pop or Flamenco, Middle Eastern melodies and orchestration, Greek adaptations, Kenny G. solos, American guitars.” ) 27.00

BRANKO MATAJA - Over Fields And Mountains LP (numero - Recalling Ennio Morricone spaghetti westerns, the electrified belly dance music of Omar Khorshid, and ’90s bedroom psychedelia at once, the music of Branko Mataja is from its own epoch. Snatched from the streets of Belgrade as a teenager, Mataja spent World War 2 in a German work camp, escaping the insanity of post-war Europe to settle in North Hollywood to live out the American Dream to its fullest. Crafting handmade music on homemade guitars throughout the 1970s, Mataja taught himself to play in order to pay homage to his ancestral home of Yugoslavia, a place he would never return to except through these guitar meditations.) 27.00

CAMP COPE - Running with the Hurricane LP (Run For Cover - Running With The Hurricane finds Camp Cope on the other side of a storm. The third LP from Melbourne trio Georgia Maq, Kelly-Dawn Hellmrich and Sarah Thompson is about what happens after chaos hits; when you’ve walked through the fire and come out stronger, calmer and happier than ever before. The band’s last album, 2018’s How To Socialise And Make Friends, put Camp Cope under an intense spotlight. That release allowed the trio to say what they needed to but both professionally and in their personal lives, they’re in a very different place this time around. On Running With The Hurricane, Maq (songwriter, vocals, piano, acoustic & electric guitar), Hellmrich (bass guitar) and Thompson (drums) are older, wiser and happier. It’s an album that is gentler than what they have done before, more positive and more at peace with the universe. Because as Georgia Maq sings on the album’s title track, sometimes “The only way out is up”.) 25.00

DEAD YEARS - s/t LP (my ruin - Maybe you’re already familiar with the Bielefeld conspiracy, which posits that the German town and its inhabitants don’t actually exist. Like most conspiracy theories, it’s utterly batshit - but if you can sufficiently warp your own sense of logic, you might just find yourself believing it. Which brings us on to thoroughly excellent punk band Dead Years - the fact that they profess to being from Bielefeld might not be the irrefutable proof required to debunk the theory, but it’s certainly enough reason for you to want to move there and live in their shadow for the rest of yr life. Dead Years emerged fully formed in 2020, courtesy of an excellent four-song demo that opened with a notably mighty cut called ‘Cloaks’ and only got better from there. Three of those four songs return on this, their self-titled debut album - amped up and sounding better than ever. This is a record that hijacks the raw-throated immediacy of 00s punk faves like Fifth Hour Hero and Young Livers and laces it with a dark angularity that feels like a thoroughly modern take on post-punk - Iceage, Protomartyr, Facs, you know the drill. ) 15.00

DEBIT - The Long Count LP (modern love - Delia Beatriz’s musical output straddles two distinct artistic poles; her debut solo album, 2017’s acclaimed “Animus”, oozed from sensual, beatless soundscapes to high-octane club music, while her 2019-released 'System' harnessed tribal guarachero elements while simultaneously scraping ideas from industrial techno. On 'The Long Count', the Mexican-American producer has inked her most rigorous statement to date, sublimating opaque ancestral knowledge into vaporous AI-stirred fog banks, activating an ancient rite that reaches into tomorrow. It’s audacious electro-acoustic archaeology that sounds disorientating, anachronistic and arcane.) 33.00

DEUTSCHE WERTARBEIT - s/t LP (Bureau b - A little gem of a reissue from Bureau B, with this overlooked self titled vinyl LP from Deutsche Wertarbeit. All sorts of wonky German weirdness, akin to the likes of Neu!, Kraftwerk and all sorts of pychey nourishment. I can see Hoy Fuck and LCD Soundsystem having a field day with this one.) 25.00

EL KHAT - Albat Alawi Op.99 LP (Glitterbear - Rough-hewn and exhilarating, EL Khat's second album "Albat Alawi Op.99" is a deep dive into leader Eyal el Wahab's Yemenite roots and their inspired re-imaginings. A careening orchestra of percussion, horns, strings, electricity and el Wahab's own DIY instruments. Mesmerizing retro-futurist sounds. El Khat. Named for the drug used so widely chewed across the Middle East, the band’s music is certainly addictive, more so with each outing. Their second album, Albat Alawi Op.99, is a disc full of joys, where the melodies unfold one after the other, involving and catchy. “I tried to be simple in the structure,” explains Eyal el Wahab, the group’s leader and heart, who composed and arranged almost everything on the album. Albat Alawi Op.99 is very much his vision. “It’s a bit like pop music, where the soul is four chords and a melody. The difference is in the expression.” That sense of expression and meaning flows through the first single, “Djaja,” where he sings “From Yemen and beyond America/ We are all together and I am alone.” This is music that both looks over the shoulder to his family’s past and forward to the world that lies outside. ) 24.00

HANS-A-PLAST - Live At Rockpalast 1980 (Dedicated To Jens Meyer) LP (blitzkrieg pop - What to do when there's a fire? by Hollow Skai* In November 1987, the New Wave Band Hans-à-Plast, which consisted of two couples, had their first gig at the first “No-Fun-Festival” in a small youth centre in Hannover. They had started out as a anti-nuclear song group that agitated passersbysin pedestrian areas, but they were fed up by “the pointless discussions at university”. Instead of countless hours of thinking and three years of practice, they started out right from the beginning. In a short amount of time, Annette Benjamin learned all their repertoire. They had known her from her Band “Schleim” which also had a gig at the aforementioned festival. With Annette, the band had a singer that not only resonated with the audience but also with Alfred Hilsberg, who booked them twice for his festivals at the “Markthalle” and additionally said the following about here in the music magazine “Sounds”: “Annette is the best of all the new bands. She has the kind of energy, with which she can destroy you with just her voice.” But not only she was “a belter” (as the “Sounds” editor at the time Michael O. R. Kröher later recalled), but also the rest of the band. “That was a real rockband.” Whenever Hans-à-Plast played live, they gave them hell, they turned their locations into a broiling pit and played everywhere they could. Antifa-festivals as well as a punk club in Hamburg or at the “Wuppertaler Börse”, where they also met “Fehlfarben”, a band that soon only knew one goal: sell more records than them. ) 25.00

HUERCO S. - Plonk DLP (The first Huerco S. album in 6 years, Plonk’s world does not wholly resemble anything Brian Leeds has made under any alias. His sound palette has broadened to absorb and refine trap’s un-smeared geometrics and drill’s taught rhythms amongst the gaseous bodies and soul-piercing ambience that has garnered such acclaim; Where those previous veins were rooted in the pre-Columbian civilizations of his native Kansas, Plonk reflects the mournful sodium glow of cities at night, street corners that light up with painful moments of clarity you wish would disappear.) 35.00

IDIOT SIEGE - ....One Of Those Lives LP (Idiot Siege aus Leipzig spielen granatenstarke, melodische Punkrock-Songs.

ISIK KURAL - In February LP (rvng - On in february, Isik Kural works like a photographer of sound, documenting the passing and returning of time as if material snapshots of life’s temporality. Across the album’s twelve songs, each composed from chance loops and cocooned within the soft container of Isik’s memorable voice and melody play, time is held on to hopefully, impossibly, eternally. Born in Istanbul, Isik studied music engineering at the University of Miami, alighted in New York City, and eventually settled in Glasgow, immersing in a sound design masters and audiovisual practice. While these paths guided him between different projects and cities, a voice was simultaneously growing inside the artist, informed by a vision of the world in its everyday luminosity. This voice was expressed in the lyrical and instrumental waves of 2019’s As Flurries, a cassette collection for Italian label Almost Halloween Records.) 26.00

LEBANON HANOVER - Why Not Just Be Solo LP (fabric - Lebanon Hanover debut album re-mastered, first released on Fabrika Records (Greece) in February 2013) 22.00

LEILA BORDREUIL - Not An Elegy LP (boomkat - First pinging our radar with her ‘Headflush’ album for Catch Wave back in 2019, Leila Bordreuil has a tactile, extreme approach to the cello, one that focuses on its visceral aspects in a way that mimics the most spirited, fraught and melancholy human emotions. Despite the complex nature of her playing, you can trace Bordreuil's lineage back to Arthur Russell’s defining ‘World Of Echo’ in methodology and spirit - Leila plays with no processing or effect pedals, everything stems from the player, her instrument, and their surroundings. On ‘For Tamio’ - Leila performs in tribute to her collaborator and saxophonist Tamio Shiraishi, whose late night performances at the Spring Street subway, 10 stops away from Ralph Avenue, greatly inspired her own approach to capturing and playing with resonance in the subway. For just shy of 20 mins, she makes the air burn and buckle with a combustible grasp of loud/quiet dynamics and keening discord that has us seat-edge by the end. The setting is evocative to the extreme - the usually chaotic and bustling subway station now emptied of its usual inhabitants, reclaimed as a performance space in which Leila played late into the night - accompanied by memories and echoes of life, as well as a person living in the subway station who started dancing to her music, an engrossed audience of one. ) 29.00

MANNVEIRA - Vítahringur LP (dark decent - Formed in 2010, Iceland’s MANNVEIRA have been a relatively quiet band during the first decade of existence. Four years after inception, the band released their first EP, Von er Eitur. Two years later they teamed up with the enigmatic ELLORSITH for a haunting split on Dark Descent Records. Silence has largely followed since that split as the black metal band has honed their songwriting skills for 2021‘s Vitahringur. Recorded in 2018 to 2019, Vitahringur is a manifestation of the downward spiral which it represents, portrayed in five tracks of abstract misery and violence. Vitahringur is the culmination of a decade’s work for MANNVEIRA and the darkest journey in their existence. No longer will the band be lurking in the shadows. Vitahringur is the statement the band has been working toward all along.) 26.00

MOOR MOTHER - Black Encyclopedia Of The Air LP (ANTI - Get yo ass in the house, robot-- you cyber-spectre, you outhouse prime minister, you hard-headed mirror ninja, snapping selfies, living in the pixelated seams between bursts the of flashing images, birthed in a pool of TV static and Tik Tok dust. BLACK ENCYCLOPEDIA OF THE AIR is here, not to save but to drown you. Heads better learn how to swim cause listen, this record is beat soup, hearty yet still minimal, a sonic mirage of prophetic soul that drop kicks your "chill beats to study to" Youtube playlist and hyper-intellectual rap podcasts into a hadron collider; it's only black matter on the other side-- 13 mesmerizing tracks about memory and imprinting and the future, all of them wafting through untouched space like the ghostly cinders of a world on fire, unbound and uncharted, vast and stretching across the universe. Moor Mother is a holographic figment of an Afrotopian dream, all at once goddess and warrior, mystic and cyborg, griot and future time traveller, etching noisy pieces of reverie into our consciousness for decades now. But check it: on BLACK ENCYCLOPEDIA she's joined by a wide-range of friends, collaborators and co-conspirators on a trip through the murky cosmos, navigating the black universe with stardust as currency. In these times, they'll say, as they click and mash their way through the same inter-webs that seek to strangle them, BLACK ENCYCLOPEDIA OF THE AIR is just what we need: a post-everything, 12:01 on the doomsday clock, anti-trip hop type of situation. "We ain't gotta fight no more," they'll say; the rest of us, we'll put this record on and imagine again that it's real.) 24.00

MOVING TARGETS – Youth Of America LP (blitzkrieg pop - Limited edition of 200 handnumbered copies on WHITE vinyl. Features cover-versions of the WIPERS classic and BULLET LAVOLTA mega-hit, recorded live in 2018 at the Vera in Groningen. All the records are packed into some second hand sleeves of various old  records incl those records (so you basically get two records) All Lps come also with a 24-page photo-booklet.) 18.00

THE NUMBERS - Alternative Suicide LP (radiation - Bristol new wave quartet the Numbers formed in 1977 with vocalist / rhythm guitarist Nick McAuley, bassist Wayne Kingston, drummer Lee Gardener and future Massive Attack guitarist Angelo Bruschini. Heavily influenced by Bowie’s Berlin trilogy, early recordings surfaced on compilations issued by the local Heartbeat label in 1979, namely the power- punk-pop ‘Alternative Suicide’ on 4 Alternatives and the funked-up ‘Cross Slide’ on Avon Calling. This excellent compilation pairs those songs with unreleased demos, giving us the complete picture of a band far ahead of their time, with Bruschini already on dazzling form.) 24.00

OREN AMBARCHI -  Sagittarian Domain (10 year anniversary edition) LP (black truffle - 10th anniversary reissue of this rhythmically churning one-man-band monster of an album, recorded in a single inspired studio session & originally released in 2012 on Editions Mego. From the original Editions Mego press release:  “For anyone who still associates Oren Ambarchi exclusively with the clipped, bass-heavy tones of solo electric guitar works such as Suspension, this rhythmically churning one-man-band monster of an album-length piece might seem to come out of nowhere. However, listeners who have followed the breadth of his work for the last few years (solo and in projects with collaborators from Jim O’Rourke to Stephen O’Malley and Keith Rowe to Keiji Haino) will have noted how Ambarchi has allowed increasingly clear traces of his enthusiasms as a music listener (for classic rock, minimal techno and 70’s fusion, among other areas) to surface in his performances and recordings, all the time filtering them through his signature long-form structures and psychoacoustic sonics. ) 27.00

THE POP GROUP - Y In DUB DLP (Mute - Released in 1979 as post-punk was peaking in the British scene, ‘Y’ was the debut studio album by The Pop Group. The record’s producer Dennis Bovell provides a kind of shadow album titled ‘Y In Dub’, consisting of cavernous dub remixes of the LP’s full tracklisting, with versions of the contemporaneous single ‘She Is Beyond Good And Evil’ and its B-side ‚3’38’.) 29.00

SANGRE DE MUERDAGO - Xuntas LP (neuropa - Galician~German Magick Folk druids are back with their long-awaited 5th full length album. "Xuntas" is their most ambitious album to date, including a stunning and massive display of art in every detail of the production, as well as notorious contributions from the likes of Neurosis' Steve Von Til.( 27.00

SELOFAN - vitrioli LP (fabrika - With 4 acclaimed studio albums already under their belt, the Athens-based synth / coldwave duo Selofan released “Vitrioli” in 2018, their fifth and most staggering album yet. A well-known purveyor of allusive, synth-infused coldwave music and the driving force behind the Greek label, Fabrika Records, Selofan followed the siren call of the 80’s goth sounds and minimalism, carving out their own spot at the forefront of independent wave music scene. The seasoned hunters constantly digging for new dramas and passions to grace their visual intention and musical charm, the band specialize in deep, cold & racy analog sounds- but have always been favored along with howling vocals, well-distilled synths and heartbroken sax- when it comes to the occasional shootout between genre trenches. Across "Vitrioli"s eleven heart-wrenching love songs and odes to the failures and hysterias of the subculture, Selofan brilliantly express the band’s main themes they’ve been exploring since their existence: that there is dark humor in emotional vulnerability, that one can find a way to laugh and cry in the same breath – and get stronger. The sound of “Vitrioli” is intense, inflammatory and sometimes harrowing- the record taps into the depths of madness: chanelling a lover’s call to arms, power of self-awareness and brutal rawness of desperation, love and hate conflict colliding into devastating effects. Famously provocative, Selofan create an unpopulated dramatic realm where sad lovers shapeshift into a destructive, obsessive, ambitious persona with a driven desire.) 22.00

SWANS - SWANS Soundtracks For The Blind 4xLP (mute - 'Soundtracks For The Blind' was the final Swans album before their temporary break up back in 1996. When the band reformed in 2010, this was the album Michael Gira referred to in order to push the group forwards. Of the record, Gira said, "This album has everything in there – all the ideas from Swans’ initial 15 years of work.“) 40.00

VALIUM AGGELEIN - black moon DLP (numero - Just as Duster's landmark debut album Stratosphere was making its first orbit, Clay Parton, Dove Amber, and Jason Albertini tracked a largely improvised companion capsule under their Valium Aggelein alter ego. An ode to '70s Kosmische, Hier Kommt Der Schwartze Mond is a skeletal space nap for the prozac generation. Remixed and remastered from the original 16 track analog tapes, the 1998 album has been adjoined by 15 period-appropriate bonus tracks. A fuzzy masterpiece, hidden in plain sight, by the most important slowcore band of all time.) 33.00

VLADISLAV DELAY - Anima DLP (Originally released in 2001 with the legendary Mille Plateaux label, Vladislav Delay's Anima marked a shift for the noted electronic whiz kid with the many monikers. Gone, in large part, were the well choreographed, sequencer-led compositions of old, replaced by live instruments, long takes, and a minimum of post-production and overdubs. "Melody and rhythm are sometimes more implied than expressed, allowing for your brain to fill in the blanks, and at other times coalesce effortlessly, flawlessly and gracefully all on their own. Stagnation is the enemy as a few notes of wash background are about the only element allowed to loop for any great length of time. The piece ends by gradually, almost unwillingly, dissolving and fading away finally concluding with a crash and sampled dialogue … “I might never go to sleep again, I might stay awake forever!” Absolutely gorgeous. Pure genius. Yet another masterpiece." (Review by Brainwashed)) 27.00

WALK THROUGH FIRE - Vår Avgrund DLP (blood vans - Hailing from Gothenburg, Sweden sludge doom quintet WALK THROUGH FIRE returns with their third studio opus entitled VÅR AVGRUND (Our Abyss). The band has broadened their sound with an organ resulting out of the Arvo Pärt live recording in 2017 adding an extra layer onto their minimalistic sludge monotony and slow burning hardcore vocalisation. Malin Wättrings contribution of saxophone in ‘Vägar Mot Slutet’ shows the band is far beyond genre restrictions and abandons any kind of traditional song structure totally focusing on the uncompromising transportation of existential dread and misery. With 7 tracks and a total time of 75 minutes recorded this record is meant to be listened to in one piece – dragging you deeper into the abyss. Every chord, every snare hits the spot and is as important as the space in between. 6 years after ‘Hope is Misery’ WALK THROUGH FIRE prove they have found their own unique style of writing slow and extreme music. The album is the first with lyrics in Swedish, with themes mainly about the inevitability of tragedy and suffering in life – both as individuals, and as a collective. And these themes are perfectly visualized by long-time friend of the band, Göran Nilsson (Hydra Illustration).) 22.00

WENDELL HARRISON - Farewell To The Welfare LP (now again - The Tribe Records co-founder’s lost album, recorded in 1975, rumored to exist no more. Mastered from the original tapes and lacquered by Bernie Grundman. Now-Again has reissued titles from the Tribe label, one of the brightest lights of America’s 1970s jazz underground, and one of the most meaningful, local movements of the 20th Century Black American experience.   Included in an extensive, oversized booklet, Larry Gabriel and Jeff “Chairman” Mao take us through the history of the Tribe, in a compelling story that delves not just into the history of the label and its principals, but into the story of Black American empowerment in the latter half of the 20th Century.  The booklet features never-before-seen archival photos and rare ephemera from Tribe’s mid-1970s heyday.) 36.00

ZIAD RAHBANI - Abu Ali 12“ (now agan - Following the success of the special Record Store Day ‘Abu Ali’ Yellow vinyl edition, we are reissuing a standard black vinyl version of Ziad Rahbani's mythical Disco 12" which was originally issued in Lebanon in 1978. This reissue features the original artwork with remastered audio. A highly sought-after album, Abu Ali is a must-have for all fans of Lebanese music and collectors of Arabic Grooves.) 25.00

V/A - Driftless Dreamers In Cuca Country DLP (numero - Home to Cuca Records and hundreds of Nashville-fantasizing pluckers and singers, Wisconsin's Driftless region was a hotbed of country music in the 1960s. Influenced by old-timey ethnic songs, Bakersfield outlaws, countrypolitan rainbows, and the lonesome twang of every rural route roadhouse, these 17 Driftless Dreamers washed up at Jim Kirchstein's Sauk City record plant with little more than $100 and a longing. Collected here are the fruits of Cuca's documentary approach to record making, capturing the voices and stories of a culture and glacier in abatement.) 35.00

V/A - Epiphanies DLP (hallow ground - Silver-stamped & spotgloss-printed gatefold - On Epiphanies, the first-ever "concept-compilation" to be released by Hallow Ground, artists such as Maria W Horn, FUJI||||||||||TA, Lawrence English, Siavash Amini and Norman Westberg, who all have previously released music on the Swiss label, were commissioned to pursue a non-rational creative process in approaching the phenomenon of epiphany through sound. In very different ways, all of the compositions on the compilation draw on the unique emotional powers of certain acoustic instruments, obfuscating the borders between physicality and abstraction. The results, whether long-form, short vignettes, profane and concrete sounds or spiritual and abstract pieces, perfectly encapsulate what Hallow Ground as a label has stood for since its inception in the year 2013: challenging not only conventional notions of what music is supposed to sound like but also the listeners’ perception through the power of sound. On Epiphanies, Hallow Ground also welcomes artists including Magda Drozd, Akira Sileas and Valentina Magaletti to make their first ever contributions to the label.) 32.00

PAULINE OLIVEROS / GYÖRGY LIGETI PERFORMED BY ENSEMBLE 0 - Musica Nuvolosa CD (sub rosa -"After its reading of Julius Eastman's Feminine, released in 2021, the Ensemble 0 revisit the repertoires of Pauline Oliveros and György Ligeti from another angle. From the works of Oliveros, they exhumed a deeply meditative piece for accordion and voice, giving it a new life in the form of vaporous, cloud-riding chamber music. With Ligeti, the piano radicalism of the Musica Ricercata miniatures crops up again in a new and as yet unreleased orchestration György Ligeti (1923-2006) was a Hungarian-Austrian composer of contemporary classical music. He has been described as 'one of the most important avant-garde composers in the latter half of the twentieth century' and 'one of the most innovative and influential among progressive figures of his time'. Pauline Oliveros (1932-2016) was an American composer, accordionist and a central figure in the development of post-war experimental and electronic music.“) 17.00
